One of the things rarely talked about is how Tichitt from the outset had a lot warfare/civil strife. Why else would they build tall and thick walls and watch towers. The towns and villages undoubtedly warred against each other.

The migration would’ve also occurred at the tail end of Tichitt’s classic period (~1000BC) during when Tichitt’s political system reached its peak complexity. These people seem to have travelled en masse to a new area and seemingly colonized it.

Was the Tichitt migration to Mali state sponsored? Very rarely in history does something like the Tichitt diaspora happen. A population moves to a new area and completely transports their political system along with them.

「なんでアフリカって何年も経済支援しているのに発展しないの？」という疑問については、私の中では一応の答えが出ていまして。 というのも、子どもの頃に見たテレビ番組なんですけど、日本の農家さんが、現地に技術指導に行く企画があったんです。 現地の人が、日本から持っていったイモを食べて「キントキ！キントキ！」とはしゃいでいたので、金時イモだったのかな？ 栽培方法を教えて、種芋をどっさり置いていったんですけど、後日その村を訪ねてみると、アフリカ人、種芋を植えずに全部食べちゃったんです。 そのうえ悪びれもせず「日本人、キントキもっとくれ！」なんて言うもんだから、農家さんもポツリと「だから発展しないんだよ…」と。 こども心に「それはそう」と思いました。
