Don't get me wrong, I still think 60% profit split is an amazing deal when you're trading simulated capital with only a ~$500 evaluation fee instead of risking your own money. You just need to be aware of what you're actually buying. The problem is that many traders see "90% profit split," never do the math, and later get angry when the payouts don't match their expectations. Understand the rules first. Then decide if the deal is worth it.

Prop firms claiming a 90% profit split are either misleading... or they assume traders won't do the math. If you have to make $4,500 just to unlock a $3,000 payout (like many $150k direct-funded accounts), and then they still keep 10% of that payout, you receive $2,700. That's an effective 60% profit split, not 90%. Too many prop firms rely on traders never doing the math.

If you're funded anywhere right now, two questions worth asking before your next payout: 1. Can you withdraw on demand, or only in windows? 2. Does your money leave their account when you request it, or sit "pending"? Pending is where payouts sit when they can be cancelled. Many learned that the hard way this week.

I have a few signs from my trade slope analysis that suggest the bottom of this drawdown may be near. But the truth is, it's impossible to predict with certainty. All I can do is keep executing the strategy like a mad man.

That's the tricky part about drawdowns in trading. You can still be up on the year, but five weeks of slowly bleeding without a single green week is enough to make you question a strategy that has worked for years.

This is, by far, the most mentally challenging drawdown of my career. Not the largest financially. But mentally, it's the hardest I've faced yet.

Prop firms that keep scamming traders will eventually be exposed. The more people speak up about it, the cleaner the industry becomes, making room for the firms that actually treat traders fairly.
