POSTGAME: I asked #UCLA catcher Alexis Ramirez on what it’s like working with someone as mentally tough as Taylor Tinsley after their 14-4 win over UCF in Game 2 of the Los Angeles super regional.

The amount of talent I saw today was off the charts. I covered a CIF Southern Section Division 1 baseball playoff game and a NCAA super regional game. Being a sports reporter in Southern California is the best gig in the world. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

FINAL: UCLA clinches their 34th appearance in the Women’s College World Series with the 14-4 win over UCF in Game 2 of the Los Angeles super regional.

After a fun morning covering high school baseball, I’m at Easton Stadium for Game 2 of the Los Angeles Super Regional between UCLA (51-8) and UCF (41-18-1). Bruins will look to book their ticket to Devon Park with a win tonight after taking Game 1 in a 9-1 run-rule victory.

Aleena Garcia leaves the yard for her 20th home run of the season. Three-run blast. She's up to four RBIs on the day. UCLA with a commanding 9-4 over UCF in the top of the sixth inning

UCF struck for three runs in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the deficit to two runs heading into the sixth inning.

UCLA extended their lead up to five runs in the top of the fifth inning. Bruins lead 6-1 over UCF with only nine outs left for the Knights as they face elimination.

Bases loaded and only one out for UCF in the bottom half of the fourth inning. Knights are trailing by two runs and could use some action here.

HOME RUN: Alexis Ramirez takes a pitch deep over the left field wall to give UCLA a 3-1 lead over UCF in the top of the fourth inning. SGV products making noise as Ramirez prepped at La Serna. @SGVNSports

Aleena Garcia gives UCLA a 2-1 lead over UCF after an RBI single into left field in the third inning. Garcia, a Whittier Christian product, has been excellent in her first full season with the Bruins after suffering a season-ending injury last year.

UCLA ties the game up with a sac fly from Megan Grant. Bruins and UCF are tied up at 1 in the top of the third inning.

Megan Grant stepping into the box with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the third inning. Could be a big moment here for Chef Megan and the Bruins.

HOME RUN: Aubrey Evans leads off the first inning with a solo home run to center field for UCF. UCLA trails 1-0 to UCF in the opening inning of the Los Angeles Super Regional.
