Ok, that has happened before. Have seen such cases. For ease of issues and going forward, you might want to stick to using only the one that has the same details as your BVN and NIN. And use that for any future brokerage app you might consider. This also happened to people that started in the 2000s, stopped due to the issue of 2008 and came back after things have stabilized now. You should also consult your broker.

MODULE 3: OPENING A CSCS ACCOUNT — YOUR PERSONAL VAULT FOR YOUR SHARES After choosing a licensed broker/app, the next step to start investing on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) is to open a CSCS account. The Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) is the organization that safely keeps records of all shares you buy on the NGX. Think of it as your bank for shares. When you buy shares, they are not kept by your broker. They are stored securely in your CSCS account under your name. --- WHAT IS A CSCS ACCOUNT? A CSCS account is your personal record of ownership for shares listed on the NGX. It shows: - The shares you own - The number of shares you hold - All transactions (buying and selling) - Corporate actions like dividends, bonuses, and rights issues You usually pay a one-time fee to open this account, depending on your broker. Once opened, you can access your holdings through the CSCS online portal. In the portal you can find all your shares, your brokerage firm(s), price history and many more tools to help your investment journey. --- THE THREE IMPORTANT TERMS YOU MUST UNDERSTAND Let’s clearly differentiate the three items every investor will encounter. 1. THE CSCS ACCOUNT (YOUR SHARE WALLET) This is the actual account where your shares are stored. It is: - Opened through your broker - Registered in your own name - Permanent, even if you change brokers Think of it like: Your personal bank account for shares --- 2. THE CHN — CLEARING HOUSE NUMBER (YOUR UNIQUE IDENTITY) Your CHN is your unique identification number in the CSCS system. No two investors have the same CHN. It is: - Your permanent investor ID - Used across all brokers - Required for rights issues and public offers Think of it like: Your BVN for investments --- 3. THE BROKER'S CSCS NUMBER (YOUR ACCOUNT WITH THAT BROKER) Each brokerage firm assigns you a CSCS number under their firm when you register with them. If you open accounts with two different brokers, you may have: - One CHN (same) - Multiple broker account numbers (different) Think of it like: Different bank account numbers under different banks --- EXAMPLE Mr. Ade registers with a brokerage firm. He receives: - A CSCS Account — where his shares are stored - A CHN — his permanent investor ID - A Broker CSCS Number — his account with that specific broker Later, if he changes brokers, his: CHN stays the same Shares remain safe Only the broker account changes --- HOW TO OPEN A CSCS ACCOUNT Opening a CSCS account is straightforward. Your broker usually handles the process for you. You will typically provide: - Full name - Date of birth - Valid ID (NIN, Driver’s License, or Passport) - Bank details - Passport photograph - Signature Processing usually takes: 24 hours to a few working days --- HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CSCS PORTAL Once your account is created, you can register on the CSCS website or mobile app to: - View your shares - Monitor transactions - Track dividends and bonuses - Confirm your holdings independently of your broker This gives investors confidence and transparency. --- OPENING AN NGX ACCOUNT FOR RIGHTS ISSUES AND PUBLIC OFFERS Some investment opportunities—like Rights Issues and Public Offers (IPOs)—require you to have an NGX/Primary Market account. This allows you to buy shares directly when companies raise new capital. Examples include: - Rights issues - Initial Public Offers (IPOs) - Public Offers - Share offers to existing shareholders Your broker will usually help you complete this registration. --- EXAMPLE A company announces a Rights Issue. Only shareholders with valid: - CHN - CSCS account can participate. Without these, you cannot buy the new shares if you’re qualified for them. --- WHY THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT Your CSCS account protects your ownership. Even if: - Your broker closes - Your broker has technical issues - You change brokers

INTRODUCTION TO THE NIGERIAN EXCHANGE (NGX): A SIMPLE GUIDE TO INVESTING The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) is the marketplace where shares of companies are bought and sold in Nigeria. It is where businesses raise money to grow, and where individuals like you and me can invest to build wealth over time. Investing in the NGX simply means owning a small part of a company. As the company grows and makes profit, your investment can grow too—through price increases and dividends (cash payments to shareholders). You don’t need to be rich to start investing. What you need is knowledge, discipline, and a long-term mindset. With as little as a modest amount of money, you can begin your journey into the world of investing. Why Invest in the NGX? - To grow your money over time - To earn dividends (passive income) - To beat inflation - To build financial security for the future Basic Steps to Start Investing: 1. Learn the fundamentals of investing 2. Choose a licensed stockbroker or brokerage firm with their apps. Choices are Bamboo, Afrinvest etc. 3. Open a Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) account 4. Fund your brokerage account 5. Buy shares of strong, reputable companies 6. Monitor your investment and stay consistent Remember: Investing is not gambling. It is a strategy for building wealth patiently and wisely. Start small. Stay consistent. Think long term.

A senior man needed a fully furnished 4-bedroom duplex in Abeokuta for just 1 year to supervise a project. Agent quoted ₦5million for rent. It looked like a fair deal until agent said ‘Total Package’ was ₦7.7m If rent is N5m, why is agency & agreement fees over 50% of it?

For the past week your father has been harassing my family and showing up at my Lagos residence unannounced, with threats about taking my away son, again. Now I get a call from the Lagos State Ministry of Justice Public defender, social services department that you filled, yet another false petition accusing my sister of forcefully taking my son from you, when in fact you left him on his sick bed unattended with no adult supervision, because “you went to the market” but filled such petition, even tho you know he was taken to our family hospital, treated and has been spending time with me? Just like you falsely accused my sister in London to the UK’s social services of trying to take our son from you too? Which was again disproved. You asked to spend time with him a few days to his birthday today at 9am on WhatsApp. I responded by 2pm today that he can be dropped off to you tomorrow if you can confirm if that works. But you were at the Lagos state ministry by 4pm filling a false petition, damm! My boy is not even officially British yet, I still have to give that to him in a few months, yet your family keeps trying to take advantage of him, first to emotionally blackmail me into giving in, then for your visa sake, and even now, wants to try and use him again, and again, and again! It’s okay for you to enjoy self-destruction, but dragging my boy to forcefully remain with you in Lagos and forfeit his life in the Uk and dual citizenship is a deep level of reckless wickedness for a child you claim to love, yet steady putting in harms way.

Techies… you need to see this 👀 I spent 3yrs building this project 🥲 but I’m giving it out for free 💜 (Open Source) A Jumia alternative 🫠… but better. This project actually forced me to learn coding the hard way 😭 It taught me both the technical side and the business side of how platforms like Jumia & Amazon really work 😅 A brand even offered me ₦1M for this project… but I turned it down 🤧 Because this isn’t just a product to me… it’s legacy code 💜 Something that helped me grow and can help other developers grow too. So you don’t have to stress yourself figuring everything out 😭 From: • Admin dashboard • Sellers system • Customer flow • Logistics integration • Payments • Authentication • Order management …everything has already been implemented 🔥 You’ll find the project repo here pls drop a star 💜🫶 — lnkd.in/eFUs6Beq

She didn't say anything about Taiwo, and that's because she couldn't make it about ethnicity cos she knows Yoruba women don't do that nonsense with them. She's fighting to insert Igbo men cos they feel left out in the conversation. Main character syndrome.

Our people aren’t aware of this, they’re still parroting being marginalised, and how Obasanjo wrecked Ibeto, as if there was a warning for him to stop importing cement, but start manufacturing. Anyway, we love crying about marginalisation.
jay_your_finance_guy@that_trader_

Only ebonyi has limestone at substantial levels. But during the ibeto cement era...he bought large stakes of niger-cem and the mines around it. he used it to collect over $850m in loans, which he does not plan to payback soon. The mine is literally gone for good.

Simple and short. Anything other than Atiku/Obi ticket is APC win. Will this be a reality? I very much doubt, both Atiku and Obi have proven not to be builders but users. Both wants to be the president but don’t want to do the most important task of brining coalition together
Oyindamola🙄@dammiedammie35

“There’s no reason to have undivided opposition in 2027, the problem is that each of them believes they’re the most qualified candidate on the ballot. As at this morning, we were planning to go beg President Obasanjo to speak to them (Peter Obi and Atiku cos if the goal is to save Nigeria, personal ambition should be bur!ed”

@dondekojo @Tadeseomooba BAT united the opposition in 2014/15 without state resources. Atiku couldn’t manage Wike in PDP, and PO couldn’t manage Abure. The blame should go round, both lack the coalition-building and man-management skills a leader needs which is such a shame because they have the numbers

One minute you’re in talks with the President to join his ticket as VP, the President is seriously considering dropping his VP for you, the next you join the opposition coalition. People think it’s a coincidence. There’s a win-win-win offer.
