One of my bigger concerns with system 2 is the HYDRO/FLOOD potential in the northeast given the antecedent conditions from that super soaker we had in late December and a fresh melting snowpack from pending weekend storm which could produce widespread ~8" snowfall.
Below: the EURO Ensemble snow forecast and liquid equivalent for the weekend event and total liquid through next Thursday.
The 3rd map is the total liquid that may be added to the rivers from both systems from a combination snow melt and rainfall so it will act like it all falls at once. All this driven by a 90knot low level jet off the water fwiw!
The 2nd system is very wet on its own, but rapid snow melt combined with heavy rain gives us potential for widespread flooding. Remember Bethlehem, PA had their wettest December on record with over 8" of rain. @weatherbell
