@NikolPashinyan Traditionally, azeris did offerings to their God during Kurban Bayram. During soviet times, they killed armenians on that day or kidnap children, and now yet again, on Kurban Bayram, they captured 2 children from the border of Syunik. If smth happens to them - it’s your fault.

Over the night of 25–26 February 1992, as a result of the attack and capture of the Khojaly town by the armed forces of Armenia supported by the regiment No.366 of former USSR, 613 Azerbaijani civilians were mercilessly killed, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people. Another 1,000 people were wounded, and 1,275 people were taken hostage. To this day, 150 people from Khojaly remain missing. The deliberate mass massacre of Azerbaijani civilians perpetrated by the armed forces of Armenia in the town of Khojaly in February 25-26, 1992 is a “genocide” and a “crime against humanity”. The crimes committed in Khojaly were not an isolated or sporadic act but an integral part of Armenia’s widespread and systematic policy and practice of ethnic cleansing. The Khojaly genocide was the worst mass massacre of the innocent civilian population in Europe since the Second World War. The Khojaly genocide took place in the conditions of complete silence and indifference of the international community. Justice for the victims of Khojaly was ensured by the state of Azerbaijan itself. Khojaly was freed from occupation in September 2023, and a group of masterminders and perpetrators of this crime will soon be brought to justice. But our biggest consolation is that Khojaly survivors and each and every citizen of Azerbaijan can now visit liberated Khojaly and the entire Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur freely and with dignity and pride. #NeverAgain #KhojalyGenocide

Today, on November 25th, we celebrate the birthday of the greatest Armenian warrior, Monte Melkonian. Born on November 25, 1957, in Visalia, near Fresno, California, USA, Monte's early years were marked by extensive travels with his parents, covering approximately 50 cities in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East by the age of 12. It was during this time that he discovered and embraced his Armenian roots, even visiting Western Armenia, the homeland of his illustrious ancestors. In 1973, Monte's parents sent him to study in Japan. After completing his studies, he ventured to South Korea, where he became a disciple of a Buddhist monk. His journey then led him to Vietnam, where he extensively documented the ongoing war with his future role as a freedom fighter in mind. By the time he returned to the United States, Monte was fluent in Japanese, proficient in martial arts (karate), and well-versed in Eastern philosophy. In 1975, at the age of 20, Monte enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, completing a four-year course with dual degrees in archaeology and Asian history, showcasing his exceptional abilities. During his university years, Monte founded the "Armenian Student Union" and organized an exhibition dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. By the age of 22, he was fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Persian, Japanese, and Kurdish. Monte's dissertation focused on the study of royal tombs in the Kingdom of Van, successfully defended in 1978 at Oxford University, earning him a scholarship. However, instead of heading to England, he chose to return to Western Armenia, particularly Vasburakan, to meticulously study the cave tombs of the Urartian kings. In the fall of 1978, Monte Melkonian traveled to Iran, later moving to Lebanon to participate in the self-defense efforts of the Armenian community in Beirut. In 1980, he joined the "Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia" and was arrested in November 1981 in Paris on suspicion of killing a Turkish diplomat in Rome—an accusation never proven. Though initially arrested for a false passport, Monte was released within weeks. Over the next two years, he became a key figure in the "Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia," contributing articles to journals in Paris and London. Monte authored several books in English, focusing on the just demands of the Armenian people, all published in London. Finally, in 1991, Monte arrived in Yerevan, working for seven months at the Armenian Academy of Sciences and writing the book "Armenia and Its Neighbors." In August, he married Seda, a Lebanese Armenian he had known since the defense of Armenian quarters in Beirut. With the onset of the liberation war in Artsakh, Monte left his academic pursuits and joined the self-defense efforts in Artsakh. In 1991, his remarkable feats in battles for the towns of Buzluk, Manashid, Erkedzh, and the Shaumyan district began. As the legendary commander of the Kornidzor detachment, Monte faced Azerbaijani criminal gangs attempting to capture the village of Machkalashen—the southern gate of Artsakh. In the battle, Monte and his unit displayed genuine courage and heroism, securing the safety of Artsakh from the south. During challenging times in Martuni, Monte led the Martuni Defense District, successfully defending it against Azerbaijani raids in 1993. Subsequently, he participated in operations to suppress Azerbaijani aggression in Karvachar and battles in the Martakert and Askeran regions. Monte Melkonian tragically lost his life on June 12, 1993, near the village of Marzili. Posthumously honored as the National Hero of Armenia and the "Hero of Artsakh," Monte Melkonian's name is proudly carried by a military unit in the Armenian Armed Forces, a university, and a school in Yerevan.
