GC: "However, until the ombudsman is in place and its remit has been defined regarding what complaints they will consider, our advice will be that consumers will still need to utilise the ADR adjudication process/consider legal advice." No progress then! BGC hopeless.

@indocine @epicpgc Thought harm awareness an interesting term. Harm prevention would be useful to educate on. Perhaps can do that when a Gamco sponsors for 5 years.

@spfl @WilliamHill A step backwards. Interesting the "education" will be around gambling harm awareness when gambling harm PREVENTION is the better angle. This education funded by the bookmakers too. Not independent.

Last year @premierleague clubs in England collectively agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of shirts. The headline reads “record agreement” but this feels like another tone deaf decision from the man who has undersold Scottish football for over a decade.

@FairandOpen They are going to be pretty busy dealing with all those cases then that they apparently going adjudicate on.

IBAS should be no where near being a safer gambling ombudsman. They are not independent, have turned away 1000s of consumers wrongly directed to them for ADR for social responsibility failings. Complicit in complaints cycle of unaccountability. Concerning to see @OmbudAssoc there

"IBAS were unable to investigate 653 complaints in 2019/20 regarding social responsibility. We understand 100s who approached IBAS informally also turned away and signposted to Gambling Commission, despite the fact that they don't investigate." Ombudsman Association. Mar '21
