@WalesRugby Time for Gareth Davies to return to the top table at the WRU, Surely.

So they've chucked a hand grenade through the door of the WRU and have decided they now don't want it to go off. Hard to believe this was ALL about getting rid of RCK #clowns
Matthew Southcombe@MattSouth7

BREAKING: Central Glamorgan Union have written to clubs saying there is no longer a requirement for an EGM. They are removing all 3 of their motions. It comes after the WRU announced Chair Richard Collier-Keywood will walk away in July. @ITVWales

@CraigosP1 What about the other issues they raised? They've suddenly gone away because RCK has resigned. Dodgy as hell...🤔

@davidjusteat Isn't changing adapting and rebuilding what the union are trying to do. According to the past players thats what you when you're not winning.

@GreggC_CC @philsteele1 The money is not there for 4 teams unless the regional teams start operating as a business and start making money themselves. Very poor business management across all 4 regions to date

Thoughts with Ospreys players, coaches, other employees and most importantly, supporters today. Inconceivable that the most successful team and the entity that most embraced the concept of regionalism faces the axe. Though I still have hope that this saga may not be over yet

@philsteele1 The Warriors were probably the strongest Region when they were cut too!! I have yet to meet one Osprey supporter who’ travel to any other Region in Wales to support a team! The only winners here are the local clubs in the area who will undoubtedly gain support!

@IanRedeyes @FabioPerini123 They're businesses. They cant function on WRU funding alone. They should have been more profitable themselves. Poor businesses management from regional boards.

@FabioPerini123 Absolutely tragic, but they simply couldn't afford to keep it due to lack of funding from the wru. The pro teams are most certainly not blameless, however the biggest issue is the lack of funding from the union.

Welsh rugby’s downfall didn’t happen overnight. This isn’t just on the current regime – it’s been decades in the making. The regions, especially around pathways and academies, must take huge responsibility.

@sdjholdings @FabioPerini123 But they're businesses in their own right. They should be proficient at making their business financially viable and not just expect the WRU to fund them in totality. Rugby is a business and needs people who know how to manage budgets marketing governance and every other aspect

@FabioPerini123 I agree that regions need to step up re development but their funding from WRU has decreases since 2016 and they have to take on Covid loans yet WRU turnover has increased! The sharp decline since 2021 is due to the ever decreasing investment in pro rugby and player development

@Deancallow8 Shows how poor regional set up is. The problem is nobody is holding them to account. Shameful.

This is how mad Youth rugby is 120 boys selected for Dragons RAGs Under 18’s. Bargoed Youth best youth side in Dragons Region struggling to find games not one player selected. That’s how messed up Welsh Rugby is so tell me what players are the coaches watching?

Bottom of the league on Christmas Day. 8th on New Year’s Day. And the only Welsh region not to have lost a derby. Happy New Year, Ospreys fans.

@BBCScrumV Well it's taken f@@@@@g long enough. Men earning good money to be a paid professional and it's taken them this long to believe. Something is very wrong with that statement

@gmartynthomas @MattSouth7 The irony of this comment is staggeringly unbelievable. Old, suit-wearing men with grey hair have done more damage to rugby in Wales than any woman.

@MattSouth7 Completely agree. A lot of it to do with the feminisation and general wokery of the WRU. 6 women on the 12 strong board. A joke

This is a dark and damaging day for Welsh rugby. Years of neglecting player development and shoddy governance have collided today. A 73-0 defeat to South Africa in a Principality Stadium that is half-empty by the full-time whistle. We plumb new depths.
