I went 100% digital on PlayStation back in 2017. I did this because I had a bad habit of trading unbeaten games in and just buy them again a short time later. I tried going physical again in 2021 but quickly missed the convenience and hated how loud the disc drive is.

Shams brings up the possibility of LeBron James living in New York while he plays for the 76ers. It's a 45-minute trip from New York City to Philadelphia on a chopper.

PlayStation doesn’t allow American Express. They better fix that if they want me to start buying games digitally

Playstation should release an offline PS6 that has no internet and can only play games that are completely on disc. Trophies and data will be saved on console and can be transferred to usb to upload to psn. I’d actually get this just not to see adds every time turn on my console

When PSN goes down, PlayStation should legally be required to pay you for not being able to access your paid subscription and games.

Xbox should be really ashamed at a low 80s scoring Halo game. If there aren’t meetings happening tomorrow to have serious discussions on how to handle Halo going forward and if Halo Studios should even be involved, then Xbox will always be deservedly in last place

New selfie just dropped. Thaks @insomniacgames and @EW ! Over 5 years of work, 100s of people, tens of thousands of hours of work from a team who love it. Can't wait to share more as we get closer. Who's watching the panel?

This would make it one of the best selling Pokemon games of all time. All without tricking people into buying the same game twice

Palworld has sold over 30M copies, generating $700M! (@alineaanalytics estimates) Obviously, that makes Palworld one of the biggest new gaming IPs ever, and about 86% of the copies come via Steam. - On Steam, Palworld sold nearly 1.5M additional copies since its 1.0 launch ($25M in gross revenue). - On PlayStation, the game moved roughly 300K additional copies post-1.0 (about $7M in revenue). - On Xbox, copies since 1.0 reached a little under 70K copies (about $1M in revenue), cannibalised by the Game Pass inclusion. PlayStation and Xbox yield higher gross revenue per copy sold due to geographic distribution. Steam commands a much higher market share in territories like China, where regional pricing scales the base price down ($11 in China versus $21 in the US). The 1.0 launch also brought loads of players back into the fold, pushing daily active users (DAUs) to an average of 3.7M over last weekend. Monthly active users (MAUs) are currently pacing to cross 10M this month across PC and console, as well. To many players, Palworld satisfies the open-world monster-catching fantasy that 90s kids grew up wanting, while its survival systems add systemic depth. Our 1.0 sentiment analysis indicates that despite minor optimisation bugs, player response remains overwhelmingly positive. Steam reviewers frequently highlight how the loop of monster catching, base building, and resource automation creates a sticky progression structure that sustains engagement well past the 100-hour mark. This is reflected in our playtime distribution data: - 20% of Steam owners (roughly 5.2M players) have logged over 100 hours in Palworld, while 0.7% (nearly 200K users) have logged over 500 hours. - The playtime curve on PS5 closely mirrors Steam’s profile. Xbox, however, displays a fundamentally different engagement profile due to the “try-and-ditch” dynamics of Game Pass. - Nearly 50% of Xbox players dropped the game under the 5-hour mark (compared to 12% on Steam and 23% on PlayStation), and only 8% crossed 100 hours of playtime. Wish Square Enix had the balls to call Final Fantasy: Resonance, Final Fantasy 17. Just say we are working on the next big budget mainline title but until that comes out, 17 (and maybe 18) will be lower budget mainline titles to hold you over.

Convenience always wins out. Sony needs to work on digital rights but they always have sales going on with great titles on the cheap. Go to pc if you want choice to buy your games from steam or the many scam key stores
Colin Moriarty@longislandviper

This is an astonishing statistic. Me calling the physical userbase on PS5 "vanishingly small" may actually be underselling it. (Mat clarified this is for all games from all pubs on PS.) I'm wishing my physical brethren the very best in their fight, but it ain't looking good.
