UPDATE #2: @ChadPergram says a senior admin official told him that a gunman came up "near" the gate 17 and fired approximately three shots at the White House before Secret Service returned fire. The suspect's condition is unknown at this time and at least one innocent bystander was struck by a bullet. Note to future wrongdoers: The Secret Service has many more guns than you.

For over 70 years, adjusting your status to a Green Card from within the US has been the standard pathway to achieve permanent legal status.  Now Trump wants to change that solely to inflict damage on our immigrants and mixed families by forcing people to wait often years in their home country. This is a stupid as it is cruel. And it solely targets legal immigrants.  We won’t let this happen.

Every few months they come reports that @realDonaldTrump is about to agree to something, like a tax increase or some form of amnesty, that would almost certainly break his coalition and cause MAGA dead ends to turn on him. And they always turn out to be baloney. He never does something that’s going to make his people turn on him. Allowing America to be humiliated by submitting to Iran, would make his people turn on him. That, and the fact that he knows how important it is to win this war, are why I don’t believe the reports of an imminent capitulation.
