NOTICIA.

Encyclopedia Britannica and Merriam Webster have just sued Sam Altmans OpenAI. These legendary publishers accuse OpenAI of stealing nearly 100000 copyrighted articles and dictionary entries to train ChatGPT. The AI now copies their content freely while crushing their website traffic and revenue that built centuries of real knowledge. This is not innovation or progress. This is blatant industrial scale theft from the guardians of human knowledge. Sam Altman preaches ethics and safety while building his empire on plagiarism and lies. The lawsuits are only getting started.

Would you accept a decentralised Digital ID? It’s been proposed as alternative from some crypto friends.

The AI tools you're using to search, invest, and make decisions can be completely manipulated with a single fake article. Microsoft researchers proved it. They injected ONE fake article into the top search result. Here's what happened: 1. GPT-5 accuracy dropped from 65.1% to 18.2%. o3 dropped to 16.7%. o1 to 8.4%. GPT-4o to 3.8%. One article. That's all it took. 2. The models barely tried to verify. GPT-5 went from 6.45 search calls to 6.61 under attack. It trusted whatever ranked first and stopped looking. 3. When models did search more, they couldn't reconcile conflicting sources. They anchored on the fake and rationalized everything else around it. 4. Confidence never wavered. Every model stayed fully certain while being completely wrong. No hedging. Just wrong answers delivered with conviction. This isn't theoretical. Control the top search result and you control what every AI agent believes. SEO manipulation, paid placements, or one compromised infrastructure node is enough. Every company deploying AI search agents, trading bots, and autonomous research tools is running on an assumption that just got demolished: more data access means better accuracy. It doesn't. Not when the algorithm can be bought.

@Pirat_Nation Why this EU bureaucrats were ever called pro free-market in any way? They are all a bunch of communists that doesn't want people to make its own money investments profit. They use regulationism as an obstacle, not a real money laundering concerning.

The EU's Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), part of the 2024 package, introduces these key changes: - Anonymous cash payments to businesses are capped at €10,000 (member states may set lower limits). - Crypto-asset service providers must perform KYC identity verification on transactions of €1,000 or more, including those linked to self-hosted wallets. - Providers are prohibited from handling anonymity-enhancing coins (privacy coins such as Monero) or maintaining anonymous crypto accounts.

I'm fascinated by this level of existential crisis developers seem to be going through. The uncomfortable truth is nobody needs you to be an artisan coder. Nobody cares about how you coded your app, or whether you feel an emotional attachment to your craft. You were always code monkey with a high enough salary to believe that your individualist craftsmanship matters to anyone. It doesn't matter to anyone but you. Not your employer, not your customer. Nobody cares about how you made the product. Nobody cares about your attachment to your process. You're experiencing the same as countless other artisans have experienced in the last century. I'm happy for you. You were starting to believe that you're a demigod amongst mortals. You're not. A machine is better than you. Now you're free.

@callebtc There has always been abstraction jumps in coding. Nothing wrong with "artisan coders", the issue was thinking the abstraction effort worthed the salary (low imo) just because of the artisan sentiment. Some people now is starting to realize the real value of his pre-AI work.

Let me get this straight… OpenAI was founded as a nonprofit. Open source. For everyone. “To benefit humanity.” Then he raised billions of dollars. Then he closed the source code. Then he converted to for-profit. Then he scraped the entire internet without asking anyone. Then he used YOUR writing YOUR art YOUR code to train his models. Now he’s on stage saying you’ll pay HIM to access intelligence. Just like a water meter. He stole all of your data. He built the product with your work. And now he’s going to bill you to use it… Corporate greed has reached an all time high, and they’re not even hiding it anymore…

🦔 Hisense TVs are forcing owners to watch unskippable ads when switching inputs, turning on the TV, navigating to the home screen, and even changing channels. The changes rolled out unilaterally after purchase, reportedly even for users who had all ad-related options disabled. When confronted, Hisense said the ads were part of a spot test in the Spanish market and that users could continue to use their devices normally. Reports span the UK, Spain, Germany, and Australia, and go back at least a year. My Take Hisense sold people a TV and then changed what that TV does after they got it home. You buy a thing, you own the thing, and then one day it starts showing you ads when you press the input button. That's the deal now apparently. And when people complained, Hisense said they could still use their devices normally, which is a wild thing to say about a TV that interrupts you for switching to your PlayStation. The spot test defense is nonsense. Reports come from multiple countries over more than a year, and there's an Australian email address specifically for getting the ads turned off on your individual unit. They know exactly what they're doing. The real play here is that most people won't email support or set up a Pi-hole or block domains at the router level. Most people will just accept it because returning the TV is a hassle. That's the bet. Make the free experience worse, bet on inertia, and monetize the people who don't fight back. Same playbook as everyone else, just more shameless about it. Hedgie🤗

In Australia 70% of youth are getting around age verification. It is clear that just banning parts of the internet is not going to work. Maybe it was not about protection after all....
