Again though because they don't care about male characters, these female and yes sometimes lesbian fanbases hold female actresses to 50 times the standard they do their male counterparts. Want proof? Gina Carano is the shining example. Here we have a literal female pioneer in a male dominated area, who has a long history of friendship with the LGBT community and had a massive lesbian fanbase, but was turned on by some female fandoms like Wonder Woman fandom because of the most minor, NOTHING mishap about pronouns. The Wonder Woman fandom actually treats her as the worst casting choice, calls her a scumbag and makes disgusting misogynistic remarks about her looks. Meanwhile James Gunn currently runs DC and he made jokes about raping kids, laughing at Aids victims, and none of them care, or they don't care as much as they do Gina. Similarly The Mary Sue that is obviously a female geek site is insanely abusive to Gina continually because apparently she is too right wing and spread a lie about her movie Terror on the Praire flopping because it is too right wing. By the way Terror sees her take on a former confederate soldier who is backed up by a gang of rapist, racist thugs and sees her kill a rapist and spit on his corpse. Yet The Mary Sue finds it to be an alt right film and gives glowing reviews to movies like Rambo 2 that glorify America's invasion of Vietnam where they dropped chemical weapons on children and poisoned the environment to the point where parts of Vietnam to this day are barren! Then we have that ghastly LGBT reddit page that again viciously attacks Gina Carano, yet has an even, fair handed view of Arnold Schwarzanegger who got gay marriaged BANNED. That is viewed as "he was a man of his time" whilst Gina's minor mishap about pronouns is utterly unforgivable. Only when we are willing to call all of these people out will fandoms improve.
