On political matters, I think more people should stand for philosophies, not personalities. That way, when a politician’s values or policies no longer align with yours, it becomes easier to reassess and realign accordingly. But when your loyalty is tied to a person rather than principles, objectivity disappears. You begin to defend the indefensible, excuse wrongdoing, and justify failures simply because your person must always be right. That kind of blind allegiance eventually suffocates independent thought.
