@yojora @Seyorock2 TBH, failure to put seal on a letter or document does not make it void but voidable and an expired seal can be used . The purpose of seal is just to establish that the person is a lawyer and nothing more.

NDC lawyer legal adviser need to explain how his 2025 letter of resignation from APM have 2026 seal. This raise a serious question because seals are produced yearly upon payment of practicing fees and stamps

@yojora @Seyorock2 You can’t pay in advance because payment portal for 2026 practicing fees and stamp opened in Jan 1 and closed March 31st . So you can’t use a 2026 seal for a letter dated and received in December 2025

Observation:
Letter issued and received on 5th December 2025 but bearing NBA seal issued to expire in March 2027.
As a lawyer and member of NBA, NBA seal are issued yearly to expire the following year. The NBA seal issued to expire in March 2027 can only be produced and issued in January 2026 and could not have been attached to a letter dated December 2025.
This raises a serious issue of forgery and backdated letter. It can equally put the concerned lawyer in a serious professional misconduct trouble before the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee.
I hope @NigBarAssoc and @afamosigwe can take note and look into this.
