While facing a powerful woman leader like Didi, the BJP made a strategic move by positioning a strong woman face and it clearly paid off. Women turnout touched ~93% (higher than men), and after incidents like Sandeshkhali and RG Kar, women’s safety and justice became a core election issue. When @smritiirani delivered speeches in fluent Bengali (was actually very surprising) and connected directly with women candidates and supporters, it created a powerful psychological bridge of identity. Bengali outreach also effectively neutralised the “outsider” narrative. Wasn't just optics. It actually converted sentiment into votes in close seats. Brilliant work!
