A politics that teaches people that ‘whoever feeds you is your tribe’ destroys independence. It discourages young men from being innovative and productive, and instead pushes them to depend on corrupt politicians for survival. Institutional Ass Kissing !

I have read all of Dostoevsky's books, and if there is one thing I have learned, it’s that reading Dostoevsky is less a literary preference and more a measure of how deeply one has made peace with suffering.

South Sudan is that corrupt African country we saw in Hollywood movies growing up. Illegal Mining, Unprofessional Army, Militias everywhere and dozens of civilians dying everyday for no concrete reason, Government controlled by individuals.

South Sudan looks very rich on the paper but reality about the oil revenues is very painful. Sudan + partners take a whopping 60% shares. Once the 40% lands in Juba, oil companies take their shots and and Nilepet takes the highest shares of 12%. There have been several back door deals made with RSF this means less than 40% reaches Juba currently. The government remains with net of 28% which it begins allocating to presidency, legislative, ministries, oil producing communities, debts and cartels. However, even with this little + non oil revenues, a straight and visionary government can still perform and deliver the basics. We just need to lower stealing the little and gather love for the country. We need to stop living like foreigners that will leave tomorrow in our own country.

There are hustles in Juba but there are those of community sycophants whose daily hustle deeply relies on organizing and crafting congratulatory messages and skits for every appointee.😬

Being a man isn’t always easy. You plan the trip, fuel the car, make sure everyone’s comfortable… and somewhere along the way, the music goes quiet. You check the mirror 🪞 All the babies? Fast asleep. Even your babe? Gone 😄 And just like that, from “family man” to a chauffeur. Deep down, you smile though you feel they should keep you company and help stay awake as well 😴. But this is what love looks like; Carrying everyone safely, even when they don’t see it in the moment. Men… we keep driving ❤️
