It took me three years to watch One Piece and now I don’t know what to watch while we wait for Elbaph to come out.. Is there anything comparable to the character development and story writing in One Piece?! This series has made me cry over and over I love this series with my entire heart lol.. By far my all time favorite anime I’ve ever seen! 🥲

"But Rem IS the ideal woman and she should become his second wife!!" Fuck no. She literally lovebombed the shit outta Subaru in "From Zero", when he was completely devastated and at his lowest point, when any form of affection and compliments are obviously several times more effective. Not to mention the role Rem gave him – a role Subaru isn't even capable of, and later on, especially from Arc 4 onwards, we see how much this weighs on him rather than actually helping him. In Arc 3, she even pretended to be dead after the fight against the whale (which is highly questionable), and you can imagine how that triggered Subaru. Of course, the anime left that out, just as the anime portrayed Rem in a much too positive light in general. And let's not forget that Rem regularly visits Subaru's room when he is asleep, and on one occasion (as described in the side stories), she clearly crosses a line when she is drunk, touching Subaru's body and becoming sexually aroused, and literally has to pull herself together to stop. Whether intentionally or not, Rem took advantage of Subaru's open wounds so effectively that a bond was formed in a very short period of time, but a bond that both helps and hurts him at the same time. She made him dependent on her, and it is precisely from the moment Rem falls into a coma that Subaru's suffering in this regard actually begins. And the idea of Rem as his second wife is even more ridiculous. I don't understand how this idea can be so glorified in this fandom, since you only need to think about it for a moment to realize that it's complete nonsense, and would ultimately harm all parties involved in this "marriage", especially Rem and Subaru themselves. Let's take this idea apart and assume that Subaru actually loves Rem in the same way (romantically) he loves Emilia (I'm absolutely certain that's not the case, but I'll run with this idea for you): WHY would Subaru even agree to this idea? Because the idea of two wives turns him on? Because he thinks it's a great idea? NO. He would agree to it because he couldn't do anything else. He would NOT be able to bring himself to say "no" because it would hurt Rem, as he knows exactly how much she loves him, how obsessed she is with him. And the mere thought of hurting Rem, even unintentionally, would break him mentally. He would rather use RBD another 100 times than hurt his loved ones. He has such low self-esteem that he would rather please everyone than assert his own point of view, which could hurt others. And now to Rem. Do you seriously think that Rem herself would be totally okay with this marriage arrangement, even if the proposal came from her? NO. This idea only comes from a desperate attempt to get closer to Subaru in ANY WAY POSSIBLE. And yes, she would indeed get closer to Subaru this way, but it wouldn't solve the fundamental problem. Rem would ALWAYS be Subaru's second choice, and now think carefully: What woman on earth would be okay with being the second choice of someone she loves endlessly? A woman like Rem would die inside EVERY SINGLE TIME she sees Emilia being favored in the marriage. She would end up suffering even more than she did before such a marriage. Most Rem fanatics I've encountered so far don't even understand such simple things because they can't put themselves in the shoes of a woman like Rem. They glorify Rem so much that the problematic issues surrounding her are completely blocked out. But I'll even go a step further: if you really love Rem as a character, then it would be logical to want only the best for her, right? But the best thing for Rem is NOT Subaru, it is NOT a marriage with Subaru that also involves Emilia. The best thing for Rem is to get over Subaru and find someone who really makes her feel like she's the first choice. THAT is what Rem deserves. You all act like you love Rem to bits, but something tells me you haven't thought about HER and her feelings even once. And with all due respect, please don't misunderstand me here: This is NOT meant to be a hate post against Rem, nor is this post intended to automatically portray Emilia in a better light (this right here is not about her, and she is by no means perfect, as we saw in episode 13, in that argument, both Subaru and Emilia were at fault...), but rather a post for clarification. Rem is not a well-written character because she embodies the ideal woman, but because she is a woman with rough edges – and THAT is precisely what makes her an interesting character in Re:Zero. Ultimately, she is just another victim in this story, with as little self-esteem as Subaru, never really thinking about herself, but always idealizing another person she loves. First it was Ram, and then Subaru appeared.
