Grow up you morons.

There has been some mitigation for Liverpool's poor performances this season, including injuries, the Premier League's set-piece focus, signings settling in etc. But how many of those were relevant to this European tie against Turkish opposition in March? youtube.com/watch?v=rbcNTp…

Unai Emery saying Villa will only play Harvey Elliott if Liverpool remove the clauses that would trigger a £35m obligation just makes the whole situation look even worse. You’re basically telling a player: we want you, we rate you and you’ll play… but only if it doesn’t cost us what we already agreed to pay. That’s not being “fair”, that’s trying to have it both ways. If the deal says he plays 10 games and you buy him, then that’s the deal, you can’t dangle minutes in front of him while hoping someone else changes the paperwork. From the outside it just looks messy and a bit embarrassing. Either back the football decision and accept the business side, or don’t agree to the terms in the first place. Right now it sounds like Villa want the player, the performances and the upside, just without footing the bill at the end.
