@GarethWChapman 🤷‍♂️ I’m a great fan of advertising the SC, in my morning musings, I just don’t get this one. Of all the positive things available to highlight. Maybe it’s my inherent dislike of segregation, I don’t see why there should be uniform differences. 🥴

Im not sure what to make of this. I'm not sure a)why a different hat is necessary for a constable, or b)why someone thought it was a helpful / positive thing to post on social media 🤷‍♂️

I was delighted to host my latest constituency surgery in St Athan, working with our brilliant Labour councillor to support Vale residents.

@bylandseaandair It is a great shame that other Force SCO's don't recognise that hanging on for 10, 15 or 20 years in the role does not do the role justice and thwarts others who may add value and provide different leadership. I admire Mike for making this decision, true leadership.

People often underestimate the demand that comes with a CO role. Simply one of the most challenging volunteer roles in the UK I’d say. The SCO role is both honour and challenge, in equal measure. Some, like Mike, do it great justice.

A majority of the British people want to rejoin the EU. Are you one of them?

@Miles_PBH I would like to see the Equality Impact Assessment for any Council considering this proposal. Wait for the claims from RNLI, St John, CFR's etc. etc. Whilst a good idea it would be difficult to justify. Perhaps the Force or PCC could pay?

Great idea. There are many barriers for folks to become a Special Constable just now, and the high cost of living part of that. Perhaps hours served as a police officer could be a way to pay the precept? So many ways to enable this with some imagination.
