It’s time for the Trump Administration to stand with Ukraine instead of dilly-dallying around. @SteveWitkoff the so/called “peace emissary” needs to get off his butt and visit Ukraine, not plan an 8th trip to Russia to see his “good friend Putin.”

Ukrainian POW Oleksandr Hrytsiuk was returned weighing around 50 kilograms, covered in bruises, missing fingernails, with a broken nose after months of torture and starvation. There are hundreds of stories like these. This is what Russian captivity means for Ukrainians

Baek Ji-won Warns of Simultaneous Support Collapse Among PPP’s Core 20s and 70s Voters. South Korea’s conservative base has traditionally relied on two key groups: younger voters in their 20s and 30s seeking clear values on freedom and security, and the older anti-communist generation in their 70s and above. Baek Ji-won, a prominent young conservative commentator and former PPP spokesperson, points out that both groups are now turning away from the People Power Party at the same time, as shown in recent approval rating declines. She argues that the party has lost direction by blurring its message, appearing similar to the Democratic Party on key issues, making opportunistic compromises, and showing weak responses at critical moments. What once distinguished the PPP — strong conservative values and firm policy stance — has become unclear, causing even long-time supporters to lose trust. This trend is significant because the 20s and 70s represent both the future and the traditional backbone of conservative support in Korea. When these groups drift away, it signals deeper problems in party identity and direction that could reshape the political landscape ahead of major elections. Do you think the People Power Party needs to return to clearer conservative principles to regain its base, or should it adapt toward the political center to broaden its appeal?

Wage Demands Spread from Samsung to Subcontractors Across Major Korean Companies. South Korea’s labor landscape is facing growing tension as wage disputes that began at Samsung Electronics are rapidly spreading to subcontractors and other major corporations including Kakao, Hyundai, Kia, and Hanwha. Over 1,100 subcontractors from 408 parent companies are now demanding equivalent pay and profit distribution, creating significant operational challenges for businesses already struggling with high costs. The situation has been further intensified by the so-called “Yellow Envelope Law,” which broadened the scope of union negotiations and corporate responsibility for subcontractor working conditions. What started as an internal issue at one flagship company has evolved into an industry-wide movement for profit sharing. This development is important because it directly affects Korea’s economic competitiveness, corporate investment decisions, and job market stability. Labor disputes of this scale influence everything from supply chain costs to national growth. Do you think stronger protections for subcontractors are necessary, or could these widespread demands risk weakening Korea’s overall business environment?

Korea Hosts US-China Envoys but Remains on the Sidelines as Trump and Xi Strike Deals in Beijing. On May 13th, President Lee Jae-myung met separately with U.S. and Chinese envoys in Incheon. The very next day, President Trump held a major summit in Beijing with Xi Jinping, producing concrete outcomes including Boeing aircraft sales, a three-year strategic stability framework, joint pressure on Iran’s nuclear program, and fentanyl precursor controls. However, key issues such as Taiwan and semiconductor export controls remained unresolved. For South Korea, the episode raises important questions about its role in great-power diplomacy. Samsung’s HBM chips, SK Hynix’s DRAM, and Hyundai’s China sales are all heavily affected by decisions made between Washington and Beijing. Korea’s Foreign Ministry also noted almost no preparation regarding any possible U.S.-North Korea talks during Trump’s visit. This situation matters because South Korea sits at the center of U.S.-China strategic competition, with its economy and national security closely tied to the outcomes of great-power negotiations. When major decisions are made without Korea’s direct involvement, it highlights the gap between hosting talks and actually participating in them. Do you think Korea should play a more active role in shaping U.S.-China discussions that affect its core interests, or is it inevitable for a middle power to remain largely on the sidelines?

78-Year-Old Pastor Convicted in UK for Reading Bible Near Abortion Clinic Buffer Zone. In many countries, buffer zone laws around abortion clinics aim to protect patients and staff from harassment and intimidation. However, concerns are growing that these laws can be applied too broadly, potentially restricting peaceful religious expression and free speech. In Northern Ireland, retired Baptist pastor Clive Johnston, aged 78, was convicted in May 2026 for reading John 3:16 during a small open-air service near a hospital — an act that made no mention of abortion and occurred when the clinic was closed. The court ruled that his actions tested the law, resulting in a fine and a criminal record. Similar cases have emerged across the UK, raising questions about where the line should be drawn between protecting access to services and limiting fundamental rights. South Korea is also set to implement online content regulations in July 2026 that use similar concepts of “influence” or “recklessness.” This issue is significant because it touches on the balance between individual rights and social protections in democratic societies. As buffer zone and content laws expand, they test how far governments can go in regulating speech in the name of public order. Do you believe such laws are necessary to protect vulnerable people, or do they risk crossing into excessive restrictions on religious freedom and free expression?

Korea's MBC accused of election bias after the opposition candidate's debate opening was cut entirely. At the May 21 South Chungcheong gubernatorial debate, Daejeon MBC aired the ruling Democratic Party candidate's full opening, then cut the opposition incumbent's entirely. His candidate number, slogan, and career caption vanished with it. Incumbent Kim Tae-heum (PPP) faces Democratic Party's Park Soo-hyun in a tightening race before South Korea's June 3 local elections. Public Official Election Act Article 82 forbids editing of election debates. PPP leader Jang Dong-hyuk called it "200 percent intentional" and announced complaints to prosecutors. MBC apologized, blaming an editing error. Officials then discovered the original YouTube upload had been silently replaced with no public note. Viewers saw an incumbent with no number, no slogan, no record, no message. A broadcaster that swaps its own video before correcting publicly is not one that simply made a mistake.

🇬🇧 Blessing of 118 Couples in London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 On Sunday May 21, 1978 at UK headquarters, a solemn Blessing of 118 couples took place. 🇪🇺 Almost all of them were international couples and the significance of that particular Blessing was that it represented European Unity. 🎎 The Blessing was officiated by Sun Myung Moon, affectionately called True Father, and his eldest daughter, Ye Jin Nim, who stood in for Hak Ja Han, affectionately named True Mother, and who was only 18 and single at the time. 💍 At the time, it was the largest blessing held outside Korea until that time and the only one where True Mother did not officiate with True Father. 🤗🩷 Happy blessing anniversary! #Blessing1978 #UK #LancasterGate #MassWedding #Love

🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST USED QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT TO SEND HIDDEN IMAGES THROUGH CHAOS. And classical physics couldn’t see them. Normally, fog, tissue, turbulence, or complex materials scramble light into noise. But researchers discovered something extraordinary: If the light is quantum entangled… the hidden image can survive the chaos. Classical light failed completely. The image vanished. But entangled photons preserved hidden correlations that allowed the image to be reconstructed on the other side. In simple terms: The medium became invisible to quantum-linked light… while remaining opaque to ordinary signals. Why this matters: • ultra-secure communications • hidden quantum imaging • next-generation encryption • quantum internet technologies But the deeper implication is stranger: The information survived not because the photons avoided the chaos… …but because their relationship survived inside it. The deeper we probe quantum physics… …the less reality looks like isolated particles… …and the more it looks like hidden connections woven beneath space itself. What happens when information is no longer stored in particles… …but in relationships?

Universal Peace Federation - UK@ukUPF

At the Universal Peace Federation, we believe that growth, harmony, and lasting happiness emerge through “give and receive” relationships centered on a shared purpose. uk.upf.org/upf-vision-of-… In nature, we see this balance everywhere — relationships that generate energy, beauty, cooperation, and life itself.  When people cultivate qualities such as humility, honesty, faithfulness, trustworthiness, and loyalty, they mature in heart and character. This inner growth becomes the foundation for peaceful families, communities, and societies. The family, then, becomes the first “school of love” — where children learn care, respect, responsibility, and compassion through relationships rooted in higher values. ✨ What qualities do you think are most important for building a peaceful society? #UPF #Family #Growth
