Obviously no wheat harvest in the northern region until mid to late October this season. Fungicides generally have a 4-6 week withholding period from harvest. cbh.com.au/storage-and-ha…

Seeing a train carrying loads of gravel east yesterday and then west today, at Crossing 3153 of the Inland Rail. I'm sure there was a reason for it? Meh. Fun to watch though.

@agronomy_sharon @AgChatOZ Sharon, my observations over the years is that seeds germinating on the surface without soil cover usually don’t grow into vigorous plants. Works okay if dropped onto rough surface and rain dissolves some soil over the seed. The alternative- be patient as an opportunity will come

Lacks attention to detail and falls asleep on the job regularly, but her hourly rate is pretty cheap and she doesn’t mind an early start.

@lance123wise I really don’t and they create all sorts of erosion issues plus bring up rocks but life is full of compromises and we had some large fleabane that we couldn’t kill chemically so we resorted to Kelly chains.

Last working day of 2021 spent with my brother Nick Brennan in Narrabri, NSW. Feeling grateful for the support from family, friends and colleagues this year and even more excited for 2022. Happy holidays everyone!

Widespread reports of stripe rust head infections across NSW in high pressure season. Infection occurs during flowering once you see it during grain formation boat has sailed and risk fungicide withholding periods from harvest (ie physiological maturity not date header goes in).

@agronomy_sharon Sharon, if the soil had cracks and it turned up after the rain last week it could be a stress reaction related to root fracturing as the soil swelled and cracks closed but new growth should be okay. Seen this happen before when the chickpeas are flowering and podding.

@agronomy_sharon Sharon, looks similar to areas where bore water has leaked into edges of chickpeas west of Moree.

It's #ruokday2021, a reminder to check on our mates. R u ok? Or we prefer to ask, #areyouboggedmate ? Sharing the same silence might be all your mate needs. Don't forget to check in with yourself either. If you don't look after yourself, you won't be in top shape to help others.
