Here's one for the books! #asktwitter how do the BYD utes go for farm utes? There's certainly tonnes of them around in the city, and they seem priced well. Also interesting the top 2 utes were Chinese made. Are we seeing now what we saw with Japanese cars in the 80's?

@ipaddockapps 2/2 and for every other job chaser bin, kelly chain, speed till at 18k we leave it as is. Haven’t seen any adverse tire wear but every bit or traction to the ground. It’s actually pretty impressive to watch in person the load transfer as the implement in gauges the ground.

Looking for feedback on Quad tracks vs wheeled tractors? And brands? Would/should you use a quad track for speed work?

@ipaddockapps Should add to first comment. 900’s at 14psi. Fully weighted to do heavy draft work 40ft ripper 30in spacing 7.5-8k bugger all wheel slip. Front weights are on 3pt linkage so we drop them off, leave the rear weights on behind the cab. Winter planting is done at 18k. 1/2

@ipaddockapps Wheels. Had jd 9470rx tracks don’t like speed cause the of temperature. Have a claas xerion 540hp on 900’s pulls far better than the tracked machines we’ve used.

@Paul_WeedSmart Not going too bad, was pre watered then grew on in crop rain high 8’s. Think with the scattered storms it’s going to be a very up and down year. Some crops look amazing some definitely missed the rain.

Strip till here we come. Can see the results of using current gear so something bit more suited for the job I don’t think we can go wrong.

@congreve_mark 73%, 3bar 50l speed not sure around 24-25 at that time. To watch it from the cab all looks like it’s pulsing the same time nice pattern.

@Doctor_650 3 section reel? It was for the flex to keep the fingers close to the knife. Need to do it to the 40ft as well, or all the flex fronts.

When you see the smoke we go and help , very heavy fuel load this year and today was windy creating a dangerous scenario , great response from local farmers and 2 fire bomber airplane’s ended in a minimal loss to the farmers concerned , stay safe everyone , don’t take risks 😊👍
