I am starting to feel a stranger in my own country. Not because of desperate people arriving by boat but because of the intolerance and hatred I see unfolding on our streets and a toxic narrative promoted by those who know exactly what they are doing. We are better than this.

After more than 20 years at Prospect I am stepping down as Deputy General Secretary at the end of the year. Prospect has been a fantastic union to work for and it has been a privilege to represent members across aviation, defence, energy, nuclear and public sectors.
