What was meant to be a quiet day, travelling from the Sahara over to the Anti Atlas, we stopped several times to check for Blue-cheeked Bee-eaters then eventually, we struck gold. Bonelli's Eagle over whilst we watched them then around 10+ Short-toed Eagles!

@GaryBoiler It’s been suggested that possibly Raven? There was plenty of Raven activity around the pines. Not plain enough for a Game bird I think?

Hi all, can anyone help with the identity of this egg, found yesterday whilst walking in the forestry at Stockhill in Somerset? Cant be many birds nesting at this time of the year, they lay eggs this size? 🤔

@GlenOrioleglen Well Rooks & Crows eggs are Blue with Brown blotches, like big Blackbirds eggs. If it had been dirt, they could be Duck eggs, they can have that Blue tinge. Rook & Crow eggs are quite pointed normally though

@GaryBoiler They are on the egg, Gary. I’ve cleaned it up with cotton wool and warm water.

Finally a day with some sunshine at Chew Valley Lake. Not a lot around sadly, but the Drake Ring-necked Duck showed well in Herons Green Bay
