There are a lot of evangelicals on this website who seem to strongly believe that no person can disagree with them on cultural issues and also be a decent person. This is the mirror image of the hyper-woke left, which also rejects the idea that decent people can disagree. 1/3

Texas Democrat James Talarico in 2024: "Most Americans, and I'm talking 90-95%, do not believe that an embryo is a legal person. Now, the embryo is biologically alive. That is certainly true. But being alive and being a person are two different things."

JAMES TALARICO: "You can't call yourself a Christian and destroy God's creation with greenhouse gases." So according to Talarico, supporting Texas oil and gas is... un-Christian?

If the primary American divide is between right and left, then Talarico isn’t that interesting. There’s a long history of progressive religious activism in the United States, just as there is a long history of conservative religious activism. Yet if the primary American divide is between decent and indecent, then the equation changes. Talarico shines. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/opi…

James Talarico wanted an abortion clinic in every federal courthouse and national park. He wanted the federal government to hire abortionists so they'd be federal employees.

🚨Yesterday, we testified in opposition to SF1961, which would require all insurance health plans offered in MN to cover surrogacy. If passed, Minnesotans would be forced to pay for intentional parent loss. “Surrogacy intentionally takes a child from the only mother the child has known to place him or her with the person paying for the contract.” @becca_delahunt Track this bill: mfc.org/bills/requirin…

BREAKING: Indiana Judge Christina Klineman has issued a ruling claiming there is a religious right to kill babies in abortions. Klineman issued a permanent injunction blocking Indiana's abortion ban based on the outrageous claim. The judge blocked the ban for a certified class of people who claim killing a baby in an abortion is an exercise of their religious beliefs. Klineman ruled that the state’s 2022 abortion law violates Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act by substantially burdening the religious exercise of people who say their religion supports killing babies in abortions. Attorney General Todd Rokita will appeal the ruling to a state appeals court.
