@theadelites If only Andrea took my tweet more seriously 🤷‍♂️ everyone could see what we were lacking and the club sat still 😪 I do think this time will be different, but Farkes saying back me or I’ll go because he’s proven his worth! We were all told he would get the tools for the job

5 years ago #LUFC had just finished 9th in the Premier League and the following summer they failed to back Marcelo Bielsa in the transfer market - it is the pivotal point in Leeds' recent history that Daniel Farke mentioned in today's press conference. Leeds had not signed a central midfielder for 4.5 years; and when a fan asked then-owner Andrea Radrizzani who the new midfielder would be he replied 'Adam Forshaw' - a player plagued by injury problems. This is the mistake Farke doesn't want repeating - the failure to back Marcelo Bielsa - who had just returned Leeds' highest finish in the Premier League for 20 years. That summer window was one of the worst in Leeds' recent history and sowed the seeds of the club's relegation the following season. In the summer of 2021, Leeds only made 3 significant purchases for the first team: Dan James (23), Junior Firpo (24) and Jack Harrison (24) (who had been on loan the previous seasons). They were rolling the dice on these prospects, plus six other under 21 players - all good acquisitions - but nowhere near ready for the first team. 185 days after the Radrizzani 'Forshaw' tweet - Marcelo Bielsa was sacked. The failure to not push on and back Bielsa after he took Leeds to the top half of England's top tier is a decision that still haunts the club when the Argentinian's name is mentioned. Daniel Farke wants to ensure that the club are aligned in not wanting to repeat the errors of the past. Farke said in the press conference today: "We, as a club, had one good season in the Premier League in the last 25 years and that was under Marcelo. And we didn't capitalise on it. And now we have had this good season. But if you think as a club you want to just 'maintain the status quo' - then it won't be good enough." #LUFC are at a crossroads. A similar pivotal fork in the road as 5 years ago. One path is built on a professional ambitious plan that is heavily backed in the transfer market. The other undoes everything the staff and players have worked to achieve the past 3 seasons. This is the summer transfer window that will define the next 5-10 years of Leeds United's future - the club has to get it right: Daniel Farke knows it, the fans know it, and it is now up to the owner's to put in place the plan and investment that will take Leeds to the next level.

Get this angle sent far and wide This 100% proves it was a header and not a handball The cheating in recent years in favour of Celtic has went right up a notch recently to ensure their hero Martin O’Neill wins the league Expose these corrupt bastards

You can tell the ref wants Spurs to win this one 😂 Leeds keeper gets penalised for holding onto the ball too long, yet away keepers at Elland Road have been doing it all season with no punishment. Funny how the 8-second rule suddenly matters now 🤔 #spurs #leeds

I just can’t see Forest getting relegated. Or West Ham. I think it’s going to have to be Leeds.

🚨 OFFICIAL: Fede Valverde statement. “Yesterday I had an incident with a teammate during a training session. The fatigue from competition and the frustration made everything seem blown out of proportion”. “In a normal locker room, these things can happen and are usually resolved internally without it becoming all public”. “Clearly, someone here is spreading rumors, and with a season without titles, where Real Madrid is always under scrutiny, everything gets blown out of proportion”. “Today we had another disagreement. During the argument, I accidentally hit a table, causing a small cut on my forehead that required a routine visit to the hospital”. “At no point did my teammate hit me, I didn’t hit him either”. “I feel that my anger about the situation, frustration at seeing some of us struggling to get through end of season, giving it our all, pushed me to the point of arguing with a teammate”. “I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry because this situation hurts me, this moment we’re going through is painful”. “Real Madrid is one of the most important things in my life and I can’t be indifferent to it. The result is accumulation of things that culminate in a senseless fight, damaging my image and leaving room for doubt that they will add fuel to the fire of an accident”. “I wasn’t going to speak out until the end of the season. We were eliminated from the Champions League, and I kept my anger and resentment to myself”. “We’ve wasted another year, and I wasn’t in a position to be posting on social media when the only face I had to show was on the field, and I feel that’s what I did. That’s why I’m the one who’s most saddened and pained to be going through this situation that prevents me from playing the next match due to medical decisions”. “I always gave it my all, to the very end, and it hurts me more than anyone not to be able to do so. I am available to the club and my teammates to collaborate on any decision they deem necessary. Thank you”.
