@FlukeAndBox Every year there are new classes and or talents releasing. Without increasing the number of new heroes printed each year how will it be possible to revisit all old hero-class combinations?

If you could ask James White a question that hasn't been asked before, what would it be? #fabtcg

@ArcLightLeague When is the next week of games going up? These have been great

Great talk!! Very important points and insights. Its never the hero, and if youre feeling that way you may ask why and how this works.
Appreciate Majiin sooo much. His FaB tournament and story talks are soo cool to hear and just the guy itself is a wonderful part of FaB.

Kano immediately appealed to @MajiinBaeLoR, but he also knows why it is important to @fabtcg. Meanwhile, @WatchFlake asks why it ruins people's day. Catch the whole discussion on ISP 115!

@CakeTCG @matt_iwnl It did feel a little anticlimactic to make top 8 and go home with a rainbow foil rhinar

@matt_iwnl not gonna lie I’m pretty pissed after finding out T8 also got nothing xd

thoughts on prizing and costs of my rtns, everything is in USD, and my thoughts on the CC event are a little bit of a mess, i’m sleepy, but wanted to say this before it left my mind.
played a $50 DRAFT RTN with a box per person to top 8 and 1 participation pack to everyone that entered. 44 people. 2 judges that weren’t store employees or owner.
played a $25 CC RTN with pack per win of leftover boxes like tales unlimited and monarch unlimited for the packs given out for the matches. was only heavy hitters in the last round. no pack per win for top 8, no extra prizing beyond LSS’s kit for top 8. 53 people. 1 judge who was the store owner.
i dont want to call out stores or name names. i understand stores have costs also. i just wish that LSS made stores increase prizing if they want to charge max/near max pricing, or not let stores charges as much as they do.
at MSRP the top 8 prizing for the draft RTN is like $880 worth of product, and another $220 nearly for the participation pack. and about $1320 for the draft packs. plus paying judge $150-200ish (probably). that’s about $2600. but the product isn’t bought at cost, it’s at wholesale. $480 for top 8 boxes. $120 for participation boxes. $720 for product to drafts. judge should’ve been paid $200 so we’ll go with that. $1520 in total cost.
they took in $2200 for the whole event and it cost them approx. $1520, 30% rake is INSANE.
in addition to this, the judges were not experienced in running a draft RTN, they told us to go to our tables in GEM initially for the draft, they didn’t tell us table and seat number, and they didn’t have the little slips that show where each player sits. one of the draft pods seated improperly, but the matches weren’t adjusted to account for that, so the players on the end caps had to play themselves after just drafting right next to each other.
for the CC event they mostly used product that was old and leftover, Tales Unlimited, Monarch Unlimited, Uprising. the TO went around each round and put the packs on the table for the winner to just grab after they win. this is fine and why players didn’t get to pick what packs they wanted. i understand that they want to go get rid of older product and they did only charge $25+tax (so like $27.50) which was nice to not get gouged for max price. i can’t expect much more out of this event tbh, probably should’ve only been $20 since he didn’t do the 1st rounds pack per win, because the TO claimed to forget to.
TO solo judged in his own store which was also fine, except he got a couple judge calls very wrong and wasn’t explicitly giving time extensions for calls, was very loose like “if you need more time we’ll give you some” instead of giving 7 minutes for a 7 minute call while he waits for judge hun discord replies.
Overall this event was better than the first event and i can’t complain too much about its cost to prizing, maybe top 8 should’ve got like a box or 2 split between them.
the math for product distributed is something like, at MSRP it’s $575 roughly, at cost it’s $350, and it’s mostly older product. store took in $1325 in entries so if we go off of cost like we did at the other store, the rake is nearly 74%. I thought the 30% at the first event was bad, this is ATROCIOUS, but too be fair, there wasn’t organization of drafters or multiple pool registrations. a judge should’ve been hired to head judge, and the TO should’ve stayed as just TO or be the floor judge.
idk i had fun and qualified for nationals, just wish stores took a reasonable rake and didn’t screw players on shit tier prizing.
not playing another RTN this season that charges max and/or is known for shit prizing while they’re charging a higher price.

@IanTCG_Ian @BrambleSpark If it was possible I’d really like them to incorporate the expected win rate of the heros. Something like a weighted average of elo expected win rate and matchup win rate.
English

@BrambleSpark This is a proposal I once sent over to someone at LSS. It's not too complex to change the expected result in the formula to make up for the variance. No clue if it arrived properly though
docs.google.com/presentation/d…
English

Sounds like a skill issue 🤷
But real talk, I like that elo is used instead of xp. The elo system should just be adjusted for a game with so much variance vs, e.g., chess. The curve is too steep for how elo difference impacts the elo on the line for each game
Michael Hamilton@Hadesblade
@ErikaForslof As you climb it just gets more extreme. I lost 8 elo for top 8ing the calling Hartford.

@phizzletcg @matt_iwnl For the PTI event first place only got the the PTI, gold foil and some azalea sleeves

@matt_iwnl @Gary_is_FAB First place did get travel compensation right @Gary_is_FAB . Second place in both events was mega fucked tho.
English

Couldn’t agree more here with @matt_iwnl . Although the prize structure for BH’s is still shit here. Could use a bump.
Matthew | teklocore.com@matt_iwnl
@Tales_of_Alex grassroots TO running a circuit across the EU. increased quantity of BH’s - genuinely believe europe needs more BH’s than the USA and i have 0 clue why there isn’t 2-3 BH’s a month in the EU. 5-6 of the 18 callings this year should be in the EU (3 so far so there’s hope!)
