@caps_raunak @CapRichard3 That depends, the old system I inherited from a "real dev" was a total horror show, we are talking a SQL DB with everything varchar(255) no FK usage at all, no indexes, it was a thing of pure evil and I do not understand how it ever worked at all, not all real humans are great

Bro, I'm so fucking tired of this AI shit. You pour 8–10 years into mastering a craft late nights, brutal feedback, real scars from real failures. Then some model trained on millions of stolen data (including yours) spits out better work in 4 seconds flat. And the replies? "This is amazing Future is here" We're not progressing. We're enthusiastically building the machine that makes our entire skillset worthless and calling it innovation.

PewDiePie releasing a local based LLM agent to compete with ChatGPT and OpenClaw was not on my bingo card for 2026: What is Odysseus? Local/self-hosted AI workspace — Runs on your own hardware (or via APIs if you want), no cloud dependency, no accounts, no telemetry/tracking. Includes agents — Self-evolving agents that can do real tasks like web browsing, file editing, document work, research reports, email triage/auto-replies, etc. Features — Chat interface, memory, deep research tools, image generation/editing, MCP support, galleries, libraries, and more. It’s basically his custom "ChatOS" evolved into a full productivity suite. Built because he got tired of janky self-hosting setups and giving data to big tech.

@BarnoidTM @Grummz If he's building for local and considering it something anyone should take note of he's gonna need to shoot for a 32b but he will have to beat the likes of qwen3.6 and gemma4, no small task that. Local models realistically need to target 16gb as that's affordable for most

This is great in theory, but has anyone actually tried running this LLM on commodity H/W? LLMs are extremely resource-intensive in terms of compute and memory. Unless you have a $20k rig at home, I don't expect the throughput (generated tokens/second) to be acceptable for a state-of-the-art model.

Shipping Update. June 1st. 2026. Had a great meeting with MacMillian to discuss where they’re at and the small of the issue they’re running into with international orders. They have fixed it. We had about 100+ orders kick back during Round 1, where they manually tracked down and fixed the addresses. After that first round, only about 15 orders got kicked back from Batch 1, Round 2 which is actually a huge improvement. Usually this means the address is unreadable, incomplete, or the computer system doesn’t know how to interpret certain non-English keyboard characters. We had a couple Arabic addresses that had trouble transferring between systems. And UK addresses are still causing a few issues but less so now. We even had someone put their name as "My Email My Email" which... haha maybe that's a real name, idk. So we’re reaching out to those people directly to update addresses or track down whatever information we need. International peeps, the good news is: they’re figuring it out and pushing through it all. I’ve already seen a few of you getting tracking numbers, which is awesome. We also now have tracking data for orders up to and beyond the 10,000-ish mark they went out today, which is great. It really feels like everyone is starting to hit their groove. MacMillian has honestly been crushing it, and I’ve been boots on the ground too packing, taping, shipping, unloading. Not a spare hand is being wasted getting these things out. This week we entered the phase of shipping orders roughly in the BATCH 3: 10,000–16,000 range while simultaneously packing 16,000–20,000-ish. And a few in BATCH 2 international. Also worth mentioning: before we started shipping, I had a choice between faster automated packaging kind of a cold-press cardboard Cheez-It box style that automatically packs and labels or the slower, stronger, more expensive cardboard T-fold boxes. We tested both. I hated how the faster packaging looked and felt. It would have moved WAY faster, but it simply wasn’t as strong. We even had one test where a puncture went straight into the book. Look, damage is unavoidable with shipping. It’s going to happen regardless of what happens, we even had a Midnight Edition get damaged and it was in a cardboard box while inside a bubble mailer haha. That’s why I set aside thousands of books that aren’t for sale purely for replacements and exchanges. I chose the slower route knowing it would add a little more time... but also a lot more protection. Was that the right move? I think so. I like doing things right the first time. Usually that means things move a little slower. But sincerely, thank you for the patience. The job isn't done, until you all have your books. Onwards! -O

Happy Final Space Friday, We’re deep in book tour planning right now while we wait for the graphic novels to land in Virginia. But I NEED YOUR HELP. TAG your favorite bookstores on this post. Seriously let’s flood this thing. We’re going to reach out and see who’s open to hosting a graphic novel signing. Normally a publisher handles all of this but as you know it's just me and @gungnirbooks has been a huge help on that front. Right now it’s shaping up to be a June tour. First stop is locked: The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles. We’re also working out ticketing. If it’s a bookstore event, tickets will be free and most likely hosted through finalspaceends.com. I may also tap into some comedy club venues I have access to do live shows + signing combo. Make it an experience. So yeah, tag your favorite bookstore. Let’s send this off with a bang! -Olan PRE-ORDER: finalspaceends.com

Hey everyone! I’m going to keep posting updates whenever I have them even if they’re tiny. So here’s the latest breakdown for both the COLOR EDITION and MIDNIGHT EDITION. First off: we’re answering roughly 500 emails a day…and then wake up to another 500 the next morning. A lot of these are address updates, which is totally fine we’re working through them and figuring it all out. It’s just clogging our inbox, but we expected this to happen which is why we had as many people as possible do it three months ago. COLOR EDITION We’re now in the later part of Batch 2. The timing got a little weird because of Memorial Day weekend, so MacMillian was closed Monday (though we did get a jump on Midnight Editions that day). About 400 international orders are going out tomorrow on top of USA, Canada. We’re also having a meeting Monday to figure out how to speed this process up even more. The biggest bottleneck right now is honestly just data. The process goes: Nashville exports batches → MacMillian imports them → UPS imports them There’s a small data conformity issue happening between systems, mostly with certain UK addresses. Some UK addresses work perfectly, others have unusual formatting where there’s no street name and only numbers or district identifiers. Different systems want address information formatted differently, so we’ve had to manually verify some of these orders. USA, Canada, and most international orders are moving smoothly and at a nice pace. This is still moving around 40x faster than I could have done this by myself. Thousands of books have been shipped out and it is getting faster MIDNIGHT EDITION We’ve been packing roughly 200-ish books per day. We have around 400 books hitting the post office tomorrow. We already have another 100 packed and we’re continuing to pack through today and tomorrow. MIDNIGHT SHIP DAYS ARE: TUESDAYS & FRIDAYS (The post office hates us.) But we are moving. We’re working long hours and moving about as fast as we can. One final thing: You may notice some big jumps in batch numbers. That’s because batch numbers include ALL orders not just graphic novels. More tomorrow! -Olan
