This is very sad - Alastair made a truly great contribution to Golf & the science of golf. A huge privilege to have known him and to be able to recognise his contributions to golf & The PGA with the naming of the ‘Cochran Golf Science Suite’ at the Belfry a couple of years ago.

The most powerful, effective ball-strikers in the world tend to apply vertical force earlier in the downswing than most amateurs. If vertical force peaks too late, it's more difficult for the golfer to translate it to the club. (🎥 via Power Level 3)
