The legal definition of a settler is quite literally a civilian of the occupying power residing in occupied territory. Under Israeli law itself, the West Bank is administered under military occupation. The Israeli Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled on West Bank cases using the framework of belligerent occupation. Their own institutions agree. Even the legal defenders of the settlement project, including the 2012 Levy Report, argue that the territory is disputed rather than occupied. You know why they don’t argue “it’s all Israel, period”?… because that position has NO LEGAL BASIS anywhere, including in Israeli law. I’m not an expert on Israel and have never claimed to be one. What I do know, respectfully, is that I know a lot more about it than you.

The only people claiming I’ve “switched up” on Israel are the ones trying to police the boundaries of their own movement and shame anyone who steps outside the approved line.
Then, when you defend your position, they tell you that you just “can’t take criticism.”
But it isn’t criticism. It’s a loyalty test.
They ridicule you, talk about you behind your back, accuse you of being paid by Qatar, call you a grifter, and eventually start throwing around words like antisemite and Nazi because you dared to disagree, even on small issues.
A large part of the pro-Israel space has adopted the exact mindset it claims to oppose: ideological conformity, public shaming, and punishment for dissent.
I’m not going to play that game.
I remain supportive of Israel. I also reserve the right to criticize certain things.
My support isn’t submission and my disagreement isn’t betrayal.
Anyone who comes at me dishonestly should expect the same energy back.

Nick Fuentes, despite my many disagreements with him, has the ability to articulate things in very effective ways and send the right message to his followers when he chooses to.
He is clearly intelligent and talented, but in my opinion, so much of that intelligence and talent gets wasted, misused, and pointed in the wrong direction.
On this specific point, though, he’s right.
