@Wario64 This might be the death of the video game industry as we know it. Games will become easy enough to make to flood the market to exhaustion. How gamers respond will reshape the industry. I suspect retro, gimmicky, and/or hyper polished games will survive.

Microsoft has reportedly shut down Compulsion Games, the studio behind South of Midnight. The report comes after Mike Straw said employees at Compulsion and Arkane were worried about their studios’ future. He later added that some of his sources were senior staff, who said there was “real concern” inside the teams. Compulsion joined Xbox in 2018 and released South of Midnight in 2025. The game recently won a Peabody Award lol Microsoft hasn’t commented on the report so far.
