Does codex reset cards also push back the time of the weekly reset?

@demishassabis There is also the problem of open-weight models, which, in the lands of malevolent groups with sufficient compute, can be modified and manipulated to perform malicious acts in a highly professional and systematic manner.

@demishassabis Your analysis is well-grounded, and it is also what the general public & most experts have in mind. While sound, the proposal will find itself a hard time being adopted globally, especially with geopolitical rivalries and AI becoming such a key security asset.

@Gavania114 @cursor_ai It's monthly. However, I also get $20 of API usage for free once I do get to the limit.

Best way to use Grok 4.5 besides SuperGrok? @cursor_ai by far. Ran it almost all day yesterday and today — very generous usage limits on the $20 plan! And the desktop and iOS apps are excellent.

Been building a Mars Colony Simulator with Grok 4.5. Current progress: • First-person mode • Build system • Rover • Colonists • Mission system Next: • Drones • Economy • Better graphics • More gameplay Hit Grok's weekly limit, so the project is on hold until the reset 😅 Here's the current build 👇

@thsottiaux Exact mechanics of making GPT 5.6 Sol more efficient? Will it also improve the Luna and Terra models?

Morning. The last 48 hours of Codex and ChatGPT Work have been intense! Three important updates: - Temporarily removing the 5 hour usage limit restriction for all Plus, Business and Pro plans - Rolling out changes that will make GPT 5.6 Sol more efficient across the board and that will be reflected in less usage being used so that it can take you further. Exact impact to be quantified and shared - We hit 6M active users, and are landing a usage reset in the next hour Go do things

I take it all back. We just got access to eval Grok 4.5 and it has landed above GPT-5.6-Sol and just shy of Opus for browser use. Because cache input is expensive, the overall cost is only 10% cheaper than opus. Its overall a bit faster. We have another opus-class model in the competition
Alexander Yue@Alezander907

Some new model release and my eval scores: gpt-5.6-sol is a small improvement on browser tasks, but seems to consume many more tokens Muse spark 1.1 outperforms gemini 3.5 flash at a cheaper price, but is not overall very good Claude sonnet 5 is 5th best performance at higher cost than opus. I am not very impressed with new models browser-use abilities. Maybe I will train my own instead

I have a question. @thsottiaux Whenever my usage is resetted, the normal weekly reset time gets delayed too. In claude code, that doesnt occur. Is this how resets work, or is it a UI bug?

@elonmusk PLEASE increase Grok usage limits. I reached 68% in one afternoon's usage. xAI has more compute than OpenAI, and Grok 4.5 tokens are significantly cheaper to run — yet the $30 plan’s limits feel much more restrictive than the $20 GPT or Claude plans. A bump in quotas would make a huge difference for heavy users and show confidence in Grok’s efficiency. Appreciate all the great work!

@Itsbrutox wait, whats "other"?? yeah im having the same issue, for Codex $20 plan i usually exhaust the weekly limit after 2-3 days of serious work, and for Grok $30 plan it is <1 day.

一句话把 Grok 4.5 订阅接入 Codex👇 用 opencodex 把 Codex 指到本机代理,并用 Grok 订阅 OAuth(而非 API Key)转发到 xAI。

We applied the resets automatically because of two reasons. 1. It is not possible to use a banked reset from the web or mobile ChatGPT. We are launching it next week and it will require a bit of education for all our new ChatGPT Work users. 2. The system is under a lot of pressure and full resets are more predictable in how they affect load on the infrastructure. This helps us keeping things stable in the first 48 hours of the launch. And we will use banked resets once we are back in the normal operating cadence!

hey @thsottiaux thanks for the resets, however I have a problem/question - who should I contact about my codex app automatically applying my usage resets without me selecting it/consenting? the one you just announced automatically applied…again…after the last one also auto applied while I still had 60%+ left on my existing weekly limit earlier today. I was only at literally I think 95% again when the second one applied itself 😑 is this a bug from the app update? has anyone else reported this happening? and is there a way to provide my data in some way to prove I genuinely had hardly used any of my tokens when the resets applied themselves? I imagine y’all get people trying to scam you for tokens often. so. happy to offer whatever to show that is not happening here. lol. I just *really* hope I didn’t lose another free reset to a bug after carefully budgeting usage all day 😅 <3
Tibo@thsottiaux

Introducing... another usage limit reset for all our ChatGPT Work and Codex users. Should land over next 30 minutes. Hope you have an awesome weekend. Thank you for pushing our systems to the absolute limit, we have never seen traffic increase so quickly. Keep the feedback coming and we'll keep shipping.

Hello beautiful people! We have reset usage limits across Codex and ChatGPT Work. And another one will come later in the day. Rejoice. Now that I have your attention, a quick update on ChatGPT Work, Codex and all the updates we shared yesterday. We’ve spent the last 24 hours reading feedback, looking at usage patterns, and talking with many of you. The short version is that there is a *lot* of excitement for GPT 5.6 Sol, ChatGPT Work on mobile & web, but also that we didn't get everything quite right. - We made it too easy to use the highest-compute settings without making the impact on usage limits sufficiently clear. - We reorganized the desktop app in one bold move, making familiar things like chats and projects harder to find. - Our launch framing was focused on ChatGPT Work and to some of our Codex fans it made it feel like Codex was going away over time. Absolutely not our intention, we love Codex and it is here to stay. - And we introduced regressions for some existing multi-agent workflows, alongside a collection of rough edges in plugins and other parts of the experience. We’re landing a first set of improvements today. We’re resetting usage twice so people can keep experimenting, changing defaults and the model picker so they don’t push people toward unnecessarily expensive settings, fixing several plugin submission issues, improving how we represent Codex in the product, and cleaning up some of the most immediate desktop problems. A larger set of improvements will land next week. We’re bringing chats and projects back into the sidebar in a more familiar and customizable way, making usage and reset timing much more visible, clarifying when to use ChatGPT Work and when to use Codex, and addressing the many other smaller pieces of great feedback we've had. The ambition behind this launch hasn’t changed. We think bringing ChatGPT and Codex together into a workspace where people and agents can collaborate is a very important step forward. But an ambitious direction doesn’t excuse avoidable confusion or regressions in the first version. Please keep the feedback coming. We’re moving quickly, and you should see the experience already get better with a few updates today; and substantially better again next week.
