Hard to believe it’s been 6 weeks since our season ended. We didn’t reach our ultimate goal of another state title, but I’m proud of what we accomplished - a 31-9 record, the 4-6A district championship, and making the state regional finals. Here are my final career stats. @DragonBaseball

Senior Davis Perkins @DavisPerkins_ has been selected 1st Team All-District infielder for 2025! Davis was pressed into the starting SS role as a sophomore, replacing an injured Ethan Mendoza (now at @TexasBaseball), and followed that up as the 4-6A Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. His third year as a varsity starter was his best yet, as Davis slashed .368 / .500 / .559 and led the team in both on-base percentage and OPS (1.059). An early season injury kept him out of the lineup during tournament play, but upon his return Davis made a big impact at the top of our order, collecting a hit in 18-of-25 games (on-base 23-of-25), with 5 2B’s, 1 3B, 2 💣's, 19 RBI’s, 7 HBP’s, and 10/11 stolen bases (including 7 in the playoffs alone). His top performances included a 5-for-7 effort vs. Trinity in his first games back, a 2-run bomb vs. Timber Creek, and a 3-for-6 series vs. Central (with a HR). Davis is also an elite arm on the mound, featuring a fastball up to 92 mph with big-time spin. He was 6/6 in save opportunities (including 3/3 in district play), logging 10.0 innings, 17 K’s with just 2 BB’s, a 1.40 ERA and a team-best .700 WHIP. Maybe the best part of his game is defensively – where he committed just 4 E’s, turned 11 double plays, and showed off his arm, range, and smooth actions at SS with a season full of highlight web gems. One of our 2025 All-Green captains, Davis is ranked as the 33rd best prospect in Texas by @PrepBaseball_TX, 41st by @FiveToolTexas, and 64th by @Texas_PG (6th highest SS). He is committed to play for @CoachTJohnson45 and the McClennan Highlanders @mccbaseball1. Congratulations, Davis, on a great season and fantastic Dragon career! Best of luck as you move on to the next level. @SLCAthletics @CABCSLC

Freshman Camden Dean @cd33lefty is the District 4-6A Newcomer of the Year! Historically, there have been very few Dragons make varsity as a 9th grader. Even rarer for position players. To earn a starting job and become one of the team’s top performers is almost unheard of….until this year. Offensively, Cam batted over .350, with an on-base percentage of nearly .500 and an OPS over .900. His 31 hits were 3rd best on the team, with a contact rate of 89%. He drew the 2nd most walks and the most HBP’s, while striking out the least amongst all starters, showing elite plate discipline. He had 9 multi-hit games, and his top district performances were 3-for-6 efforts against Euless Trinity and L.D. Bell. For playoffs, Camden moved into the leadoff spot and finished the season with a 6-game hit streak and 11-game on-base streak. Oh, and did we mention he switch hits? Defensively, Cam played mostly RF, picking up 4 assists and committing 0 errors on the season, while making several highlight-reel web gems. And…he’s also a LHP who is up to 90 mph with the fastball! He logged 13 innings for us this year, going 1-0 with 20 K’s to only 4 BB’s, a 1.615 ERA and .769 WHIP. He struck out 10 over 5 innings in a non-district outing against Sachse and threw 2 innings of shutout relief (3 K’s) against Northwest in district play. Cam is ranked as the 7th best 2028 prospect in the state of Texas (60th nationally) by @PrepBaseball_TX. Not bad for a player who hadn’t turned 15 years old when we reported for practice in January! Congratulations, Camden, on your well-deserved Newcomer of the Year honor. We can’t wait to watch you for 3 more seasons in a Dragon uniform! @SLCAthletics @CABCSLC

AJ Bonnette (28 TX) punched out 8 over 4 showing big stuff. Ran it up to 87; lived mid-80s w/ armspeed & showed makings of power breaking ball @ 73-76. Big time talent. #SouthInvite
