"We are in a global competition for military AI dominance, and America must build on its leadership to extend our advantage over adversaries," said Kliger. "My mission is to integrate the unparalleled innovation of America’s private sector with the Department’s operational expertise to rapidly deliver advanced AI capabilities to our warfighters. Mr. Kliger will be a key leader in executing the Department's AI strategy. We are heartbroken to learn that Declan Coady—a well-loved and highly dedicated Drake University student studying information systems, cybersecurity, and computer science—was confirmed to be among the six U.S. service members killed in Kuwait on Sunday. He has bravely served in the U.S. Army Reserves since 2023 as an Information Technologies Specialist and had an incredibly bright future ahead of him. In moments like these, we must all come together to show much-needed love and compassion for the Coady family through this incredibly difficult time.

This is tragic on so many levels, but one of the saddest parts of this is how increasingly rare a young woman like Ella is.
It has always been uncommon for a beautiful, southern and serious conservative Christian to leave her family and knowingly go to the most extreme bastion of what she disagrees with, not to evangelize or provoke but to merely exist as a counter to the dominant culture. But it’s becoming even more rare and with good reason.
Decades ago, a young woman like her would have only had to worry about social ostracism or overzealous professors holding her views and differences against her. There was a cost to going to the Ivy League as an openly conservative outsider, but that cost was mostly intellectual and social. Endure it and it would make you stronger, and you’d become fluent in the ways of two worlds.
Now young men and women like Ella know they can be killed for their political beliefs on a college campus, even if they’re not provocateurs or influencers or public officials, just normal young people participating in a student club.
I have so much admiration for twenty-somethings now. The courage they need to speak up is real. They’re stronger than previous generations and asked to sacrifice more, and the older generations are failing them.
Pray for Ella and her family. The world lost someone of virtue who knew the stakes and paid an extraordinary price for openly stating sincere beliefs.

Ok Amy, since you seem to have an IQ lower than the temperature of the room I’m in, let me explain this slowly:
When a service member cheers the murder of an innocent American, it is not “disagreeing with a podcaster.” It is:
1.A violation of their oath to support and defend the Constitution, which guarantees life and due process.
2.Conduct unbecoming under Article 133, UCMJ.
3.Bringing discredit upon the Armed Forces under Article 134, UCMJ.
4.Failure to obey lawful orders on extremist activity under Article 92, UCMJ.
5. An insider threat under DoD Directive 5205.16 — using their access and platform to normalize violence against Americans, corrode morale, and undermine the mission .
This isn’t about silencing free speech. It’s about rooting out oath breakers. Every service member swears an oath to defend Americans, not glorify their deaths.
And when you twist that reality into a cheap talking point, you don’t just defend the guilty, you slander the very idea of service itself. That is the true disgrace.
