@jane_plainly Which will kill the puppies if they continued drinking the milk, so on the advice of the emergency vet and my canine Neonatology vet I weaned the puppies. None of them have any issues behaviorally, they are all very high quality trial dogs.

@jane_plainly Here mine are on their first day of no milk cold turkey, and here they are 4 weeks later. All of this was done on the advice of a vet and everyone turned out just fine.

@GazaVictryRoyal that is literally not true, pups and kittens nurse until at least 6 weeks old, they start eating by 4 weeks at 3 weeks they are NOT fully weaned.
Both kittens and puppies are recommended to not rehome until 2 months, 8 weeks.

@jane_plainly Nope, they can actually be fully weaned at that point. I should know, my last litter had to be fully weaned at 3 weeks because the mother got mastitis and needed drugs that would make the puppies sick if they nursed.
