@Spoonfuls9 @ExxAlerts Looks like he’s wearing quite a thick poncho which will likely prevent sufficient penetration of the tazer so unlikely to reduce risk but does mean that the officer who has his firearm stored is at greater risk.
English

@ExxAlerts I understand the threat that was here with the knife and all.
But after telling him the 3rd time to put it down, why not just send a taze his way?
Would’ve saved a lot of time asking over and over again.
Like there just seemed to be a lot of ‘down time’

ALERT: Machete-wielding man shot and killed by NYPD officer after refusing to drop the knife and shouting, “I am Lucifer” in newly released bodycam footage.
Detectives Ryan Giuffre and Anthony Manetta responded to a call saying a man, Anthony Griffin, had randomly slashed 3 victims with a machete in a terminal connected to Grand Central Station.
Giuffre asked Griffin multiple times to drop the knife before he retreated back down the stairs and towards the platform.
Giuffre can be heard saying in the video, “Nobody wants to hurt you… We can talk about it. Get down. Get down. Dude, I’m not going to ask you again. Please. Please. Please. Get down!”
Griffin then replies, saying, “I don’t want to be here. Shoot me… I am Lucifer.”
Giuffre fired 2 shots, dropping Griffin to the ground. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said, “They gave clear commands. They attempted to de-escalate. And when that threat did not stop, they took decisive action to stop it and to protect New Yorkers on one of the busiest train platforms in the city.”

@staffordgary @wine_x13 She also provided a jelly mould of her boobs in the colours of the Irish flag as a prize for comedians on Taskmaster.
English

@wine_x13 Sure she’s also done this on 8 out of ten cats do countdown too.
English

@CoryJac56640838 @wine_x13 Because it’s part of the bit, it wouldn’t be as funny if they didn’t act uncomfortable.
English

@wine_x13 Why are all the men here stone faced? 😭 Why is no one laughing at her joke? (except the audience)

@UrbanPosting @JenniGoldsmith @I_amMukhtar Do you not believe that getting a conviction on behalf of the victims is part of justice for British victims and witnesses?
English

@JenniGoldsmith @I_amMukhtar Big on justice for Brits, not so much for foreigners.
English

@SelfBuildDreams @I_amMukhtar How do you expect people to fund these translators? How about if they are a witness or a victim then who’s responsible for the translator?
English

@I_amMukhtar The interpreter (paid for by the client) will need to express his client's words
Glad to help the stupid on a daily basis
You're welcome

@AvgTrashRaccon @fia Then you need to introduce a million more penalties into F1, remove any hint of racing incidents and penalise each driver, team and supplier. Sure the race will be totally unwatchable and nothing will ever happen as everyone will be super risk adverse but it will make you happy.
English

@AvgTrashRaccon @fia It’s racing risk are have to be taken, we have limited design/testing of new components and new regs meaning comparison is limited. You are naive if you are expecting perfection, it’s regularly said in the paddock we don’t know why it’s broken until it gets back to the factory.
English

@AvgTrashRaccon @fia It’s literally every team and it’s not even necessarily the fault of the team that actually breaks down it can be from the PU supplier or part of the standardised parts.
Things go wrong when you’re on the limit, if nothing is going wrong you’re not pushing hard enough.
English

@Gazmac92 @fia Exactly, they are at the top.
Cars break constantly because of decisions of the same team, specially those with tight budgets, however, those parts break down in the middle of races because someone decided and approved to be installed arguing that the analysis and studies say so
English

@AvgTrashRaccon @fia Cars break constantly, there is a form of mechanical breakdown every race weekend. These are ultra high performance cars working on the edge, things go wrong especially on years with huge regulation changes and limited testing.
English

@AvgTrashRaccon @fia What the fuck has Kimi having issues with downshifts got to do with Lawson having a gearbox failure. They aren’t even the same PU manufacturer so how can that possibly be relevant.
English

@fia That is a ridiculous decision. What would have happened if Gasly had been trapped in the car if it would have stayed upside down?
English

@CJohnCC @Doug1707 @Anna_Soubry To be fair that can be a false equivalence, it’s not always internet controlled it can be old fashioned locked behind a door that can only be assessed by someone driving from 30 minutes away as they are the only people qualified to change the heating like in one of my old jobs.
English

@Doug1707 @Anna_Soubry How can I read your tweet despite not being in the room with you?
English

On the hottest day of the year so far we’re already at sub sauna levels in #Nottingham crown court because the heating is fully on.
It can’t be turned off because it’s controlled from Birmingham ……
English

@BumHeid @katbalmy @skynetbuffering @JonathanPieNews That’s an over simplification, because of the way the threat level is derived being alert to an imminent low level attack can work be the same threat level or lower as a significant attack that we know is still some way off. You would still be at high alert to the immediate one.
English

I swear I am on the verge of uninstalling this app from my phone for the sake of my own sanity...
Susan Hill@Steveandsueat22
@JonathanPieNews @CorkyMrC It seems to me that those officers were a dangerous threat to life. Yes, he did a terrible thing. They tasered him, he was on the floor. Kicking him in the head, more than once, is unacceptable. And, no, I’m not a trained police officer…I’m not sure they were properly trained.
English

@BumHeid @katbalmy @skynetbuffering @JonathanPieNews You quoting your own post doesn’t change the fact that services were on alert for risk of terrorism and that using the term high alert is an appropriate colloquialism for that risk. It just proves that you cannot back up your own argument factually.
English

@BumHeid @katbalmy @skynetbuffering @JonathanPieNews High alert being an appropriate description for how services act when the risk of terrorism is likely.
English

@BumHeid @katbalmy @skynetbuffering @JonathanPieNews It is the middle of the options but is still that the country is at a high alert for terrorism. It’s not the highest but nobody claimed it was.
English

@BumHeid @katbalmy @skynetbuffering @JonathanPieNews The threat level was at Substantial, which indicates that an attack is likely according to assessments undertaken by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre.

@StockoperatorX @RokerReport My seat is £70 more expensive at our place compared to theirs, like he says not a load of difference considering the difference in league.
English

@RokerReport Are you taking the piss. Black cats bar is £2800. Normal seat is £700.
English

Not a giant difference between these prices and ours. Premier League to National League North!

@StephenWicks83 @rirkby @owenjonesjourno So you want them to risk it on the fact he doesn’t moves his arm an inch or two so it suddenly misses your boot and instead gets plunged into your leg with force.
English

@rirkby @owenjonesjourno I imagine the officers would have reinforced boots on.

The Metropolitan Police denouncing a party leader a week before elections - over a retweet.
This is outrageous.
Forget what you think about the retweet.
If you accept this sort of police interference in our democracy, you legitimise a deeply disturbing precedent.
Metropolitan Police@metpoliceuk
“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.” Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.
