Ginger Minx retweetledi

Notice how Amali’s distinctive tusks curve outwards? Tusks are determined by genetics; by an elephant's mother, father and relatives that roamed before them. An orphan of drought, Amali may have lost her herd, but she’ll always carry a piece of them with her wherever she goes.
Her family wasn’t the only thing Amali lost in 2022 – the tip of her trunk was also severed by a snare before her rescue. Since she came into our orphan herd, we’ve provided Amali with everything she’s needed to thrive, from veterinary care to milk and guidance.
