You mean the number of hops, i.e. the number of different pools/tokens it needs to route through to fulfill the order? Multi-hop routed swaps typically happen more with tokens with really deep liquidity, i.e. blue chips or really well-established memes with high market caps and lots of liquidity. If you swap SOL for USDC or vice versa, it's pretty likely you'll have a multi-hop swap, since both tokens have very deep liquidity and are paired against lots of other tokens.
For fresh meme coins, the majority of the time people are buying with SOL and also the majority of liquidity is in MEME/SOL pools if not all of it. If the token has no liquidity against any other quote token (i.e. no USDC pools), it will be impossible for it to route through other tokens, so it will only be a one-hop swap.
For large orders, Jupiter will split them across multiple pools to lessen the price impact if there is sufficient liquidity across multiple pools to lessen the price impact. In that case it may hit multiple pools, but they would all be MEME/SOL pools.

@GeekLad @TDegenCrypto @met_lparmy I thought that also the amount of routes it has to take matters… like jup would prefer not to route thru 5 bins even if cheaper on some occasions because the more txns they have to execute the higher chance the txn can fail? I thought I read that somewhere as well

So... I honestly see a lot of Meteora DLMM users lacking in ways.
I swear I am seeing a lot of good RR lowcap tokens, but no one is making the pools on them! I understand, I am SUPER SUPER cheap when it comes to paying for new pools/bin arrays, and I really try not to.
But sometimes, the RR is too good to not create one. Lets keep getting more users on Meteora! Hopefully we'll have more people to pay for pools and bin arrays LOL
But in all seriousness, there is something to be said for being early to "good" tokens that don't have a pool on them yet.
I LOVE being the majority TVL on some of these plays.
On another note, THANK YOU for all of the support and engagement you are giving me. I always try to respond to every single reply/dm i get but it is getting a little out of hand now... Just know I appreciate all of you and will eventually get back to you if you keep spamming me lol.
Cheers! See you tonight on the classic 1-100 sol stream! 12am est

It really all depends on the order sizes and depth of liquidity. Jupiter always routes to the best price. The best price means it will route to the pool (or pools in the case of split routing) where the price impact + pool fee are the lowest.
If there is a 20 bin step pool with a lot of liquidity near the current price, and the depth is a lot more than a 200 bin step pool, then it will grab more order flow. If the 200 bin step pool has more depth at the current price, it will grab more order flow.
English

thats not entirely tru i dont think... Ive been in lowcap pools with like 1 sol and still gotten some orerflow. I did an expirement a while ago... Was being shown that sometimes bigger bins like to be routed through if theres not much liquidity in a smaller bin pool. Because jupiter I think doesnt like to fragment a lot of orders because of the chance of it failling. so like an identical range in 200 bin pool with $500 is more likely to get order flow than an identical range in a 20 bin with like $100... I think... Honestly I wish i knew more about how it worked. @GeekLad knows a lot more about routing mechanics

@Ronald_99_ @PlanetOfMemes Or he saw everything already laid out and planned before putting the blindfold on. It's fun to pretend it's real though. It's awesome they threw Publix in there.😆

@PlanetOfMemes There’s enough space where he’s able to see down at the boxes…Put the boxes eye level and test his taste and smell senses

@49agents @Mbatini5 @JupiterExchange @JupDevRel .@_hummingbot is doing great work in this space with their MCP and agent skills. They have a connector for Meteora, and a multitude of other DeFi protocols as well as CEXes.
English

@Mbatini5 @GeekLad @JupiterExchange @JupDevRel meteora has a different model than jupiter - less focus on general trading, more on concentrated liquidity and launchpad stuff. might not have the same depth of work-specific tooling yet but could be an opportunity

The @JupiterExchange token API is awesome and @JupDevRel has some nice TypeScript examples. However, I couldn't find an SDK, so I rolled my own at github.com/GeekLad/jupite…. It has some nice features to prevent repetitive calls to the API, making it easier to get started quickly.

@c3ntient @met_lparmy @crimexbt Yep, it's very similar to a grid bot. The fees earned are like the spread between grid orders. The drawdown into the grid is your impermanent loss.
English

@met_lparmy @crimexbt Great explanation - great gud fee tek.
It's similar to splitting your capital into a grid trade
English

@Jaypee_Sol @jup_lend Instead of that, if they have the cash to make the payout, they should just pay it out and burn the tokens.

New $JUP Utility 🚨
1. Borrow against staked $JUP: Imagine being able to automatically borrow against your staked $JUP on @jup_lend without needing to unstake, while still remaining eligible for ASR. That would be an absolute game changer.
2. ASR Claim: 2 options to claim your $JUP rewards in either $JupUSD or $JUP tokens. You pick one; no partial selection from both.
3. Presale access to DTF launches on @JupiterExchange : Keep this perk, but set a minimum amount of $JUP staked to qualify, while increasing the allocation you get access to. Presale launches have always been profitable for $JUP stakers (e.g $WET).
These are just ideas from my perspective. What would you like to add or remove?

English

@JupDevRel @JupiterExchange Agreed, it's really helpful if you're parsing lots of transactions and need token meta to enrich the data.
English

@GeekLad @JupiterExchange amazing 🙌 the cache and dedup of simultaneous calls is a super nice touch for production usage

Gm fellas
@DEFImoneysniper mentioned that every time I go on vacay the market gets destroyed
Held true for 10/10 as well💀
Coming home tomorrow so we should get a bounce LOL
