I’m going to make sure this is driven by artists. What I quickly learned is this is a black-and-white issue. You’re pro, or you’re anti—there’s no in between right now. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. My intentions were good, but I was taking my family to hell by doing this.”
Sam Register says original animated shows had a much better chance of becoming hits during the era of linear television: “We’d promote the hell out of this premiere, do really smart marketing, and put it next to one of our top-performing shows,” Register said, explaining how Cartoon Network gave new series the best possible launch.
