@L_D_Washington There’s a brand new teacher at my school who only lets the the kids use the bathroom 2x a day. Like who is she to decide when a child needs to use the bathroom?

The teacher told my daughter that she can go to the bathroom whenever she needed to. 🤩

@mrs_neco @L_D_Washington Agree. My “rule” is that if you can wait till I’m done giving instruction, please wait, and I need to know where you are going for safety purposes- you can’t just walk out, but if you need to use the bathroom- just tell me and go. It’s weird to be asked for permission to pee.

@L_D_Washington I never told a student that they couldn’t use the bathroom. I have taught Pk-12th grade How does someone say no? There is a way to sustain classroom management and allow a child to use the bathroom. Come observe me, kids come and go all the time and still learn.

In her #CSTA2022 session, @AllisonMaster shares her gender stereotype research in #CSforAll: gender stereotypes start early (3rd grade) and lose interest during middle school, leading to lower motivation to pursue CS ed. @csteachersorg
