At our online event on 'automating analysis', the utterly *fantastic* @mike_t_sanders takes us on whistlestop tour of predictive analytics and what he & his team found out when they looked at its use in children's services.

So brilliant to have the expert @JeniT chairing our event on 'automating analysis'. Thanks to @Geekybeck's superb programming we have a packed online room all keen to learn about (and debate!) the use of predictive analytics and machine learning in children's services.

I’ve spoken to a number of disabled politicians about their experiences in elected office to find out how much further we have to go to make this an accessible place (spoiler alert, it’s a long way). politico.eu/article/britai…

@jesstud The best things: local context at the centre, not an afterthought; focus on discovering local needs, assets; noticing interrelationships. Flaw: not recognising how long reorientation of a whole system takes (>political cycle) + skills needed to design based on discovery.

Well worth anyone with an interest in UK data taking a look at this key resource from @adr_uk - it allows you to browse by topic and geography, and refine by features including data source and access conditions. A massive step forwards, and well done to all involved.

Adverse community events is a really helpful concept. Levels of violence, health inequalities (and relatedly bereavement), stigma and prejudice, poverty - these are all factors affecting individual outcomes.

Internships longer than 4 weeks that don't pay the National Minimum Wage should be banned. Internships are becoming increasingly important for graduates in the labour market. However, the usage of unpaid labour in sectors like law and media is locking out working class people.

One of the most fascinating transition-related changes I have experienced as a disabled white man is how much it has diminished the administrative burden related to my medical care relative to when I was perceived as a woman...

A great example of listening to young people’s views about the data we collect and use about them. I’m looking for other examples of this of anyone knows of them? Cc @dez_holmes

#AdministrativeData is about the public. When used for research, there is a duty to engage them in how their data is used. In this blog, 3 members of the public provide perspectives on using ethnicity in research into #health and administrative #data. adruk.org/news-publicati…

Inflation at 8.7% again. What does it mean? These figures are bad news. Inflation has AGAIN remained higher than forecast, & the cost of essential items is keeping it high - having a big impact on the budgets of low-income families, as our @jrf_uk COL tracker out today shows 1/x
