The work locker room has ESPN on 24/7 and it’s just completely unbearable.
It’s an endless loop of 45 year old barstool bros asking hypothetical questions about what could potentially happen next football or basketball season, or arguing for hours about whether player A or player B is better. It’s baffling to me that anyone would willingly choose to watch this. Pure beer belly slop.
Remember as a kid when you could watch Sportscenter Top 10 over a bowl of morning cereal without having to endure hours of pointless commentary from dudes who crater the drywall every time they lose a sports bet?

Fair to the first point. Boomers were an anomaly in population growth. I dont really blame them for having to deal with that as they grew older.
I dont believe they intentionally let it die either. They came into a new world unlike anything before and created all the relevant culture that we still draw from today.
Gen X, similar to Gen Z, were born into a solidified system so they are at a disadvantage when it comes to actually creating anything new. Instead they blame their elders for everything while copying their cultural contributions and claiming them as their own.

I’m not a millennial but I near smoked more weed with boomers in my youth than people who were 35-45.
It was a big thing for them, and they made damn sure to pass it onto the younger generations as well.
You know what else I’ve noticed? Never in my life can I recall a boomer telling me or someone around me to have kids. Only “if you decide you want them later on.” And beyond that, they even more frequently made sure to loudly judge anyone who decided to have more than 1-2.
The baby boomers all smoked weed and then aborted 1/3 of my generation, while making Hollywood hits and thinkpieces about it the whole time. That is precisely what kind of generation they are, and that is precisely what they told millennials to do.

If you grew up in the '90s or '00s you were constantly hearing about it since grade school. They had us sit in assemblies in middle & high school telling us we all needed to go to college and corralling us to apply, or else we'd never find work. This is insane revisionism:

College is expensive because every millenial INSISTED they get to go. The boomers spent a ton so they could go. This was not the case in the boomers day. They understood natural hierarchy and sorted themselves appropriately. Their big sin was liking their children too much.
