I usually don’t write movie reviews, but after watching this film, I felt like sharing my thoughts. It deserves appreciation for being a genuinely well-made and honest attempt to do justice to its story.
Stand-out points:
•It felt like a K. Vishwanath–style narrative; విశ్వనాథ్ గారి సినిమా హీరోయిన్ కథే ఇది అనిపిస్తుంది.
•Shot entirely in real locations with no artificial sets — reminiscent of Vishwanath garu and also Amol Palekar’s films.
•No larger-than-life characterisations; simple, everyday conversational dialogues that help us emotionally connect better.
•The heroine shows her true self only to a few, like her old friend Venkayamma — a very authentic touch.
•The breakdown scene with her family is beautifully conceived and executed.
Director’s special touches:
•The continuity of the radio with the heroine’s father, and the radio station’s opening music — used perfectly.
•జామకాయ continuity between the hero and heroine.
•A lovely parallel between the story and farming:
బీజం → దున్నడం → నీరు ఎట్టడం → మొలకలు → కోతలు…
•The hero’s reasoning on farming being a permanent job and tax free is good comparison.
•There are many more subtle details I noticed as a senior movie lover (experience, experience 😀), but I can’t list them all here.
Beautifully written dialogues:
•నాలో మీ అమ్మను చూసుకుంటున్నావా?
•నిన్ను మా అమ్మలా చూసుకుంటా అంటున్నా.
•ఇష్టం వేరు, life వేరు…. many more
Songs:
Used only as much as needed — nothing extra, nothing forced. పాటలు ఎంత కావాలో అంతే వాడారు
I watched the movie a second time today just to ensure I’m doing justice to this review. By the way, I stumbled upon it accidentally while browsing OTT last Sunday.
These are just my two cents to encourage good cinema. Wishing the entire team more success ahead.
Big shout out to the Director, Heroine, and Hero. 👏👏👏
