15 years ago today (2006), I started work at the Detroit Free Press. Four days after that, I designed my first front at the paper, with Michigan Man Tom Brady looking for his third Super Bowl win. And on Jan. 9, 2021, I watched Brady win another playoff game. #timeflies #tomflies

My mom died this morning. She was 82 and lived a beautiful life, even when it was impacted by Alzheimer’s and, just 3 mo ago, a cancer diagnosis. She never wanted to be a bother, so much so that she passed less than 24 hours after getting her hospice bed.
