@TurtizzleLive @thechosenberg Any good parent would give their kid the best advice possible simply to help them. What decent parent would have the knowledge, and not assist their kid? Regardless he owes her what he decides to give her, she isnt entitled to anything

Except that advice was given and correct because she is a lawyer. States she is a big reason for pursuing the suit in the first place. Probably cause she knew he had a case. Helped him pick the lawyer. She would know lawyers in the area for this type of case. And gave him advice on pushing back against the lawyers advice to settle and go for more money. Because she is a lawyer and knew there was more money on the table.

@goldfisheater0 @thechosenberg Regardless of where she gained the knowledge my point stands. Any good parent would give their kid the best advice they can for free. Weird how my mechanic dad can give me legal advice when in an injury settlement, but she was only able to because shes a corporate lawyer?

@Generalbac0n @thechosenberg Wrong. Not every parent would know when to look for a lawyer, or when to disagree with that lawyer. That's professional advice based on her professional experience. Not saying it deserves 15% but definitely more than 5%

@goofygray @katherinista @Amys_theWise_1 @thechosenberg There should have been a repayment plan in place if that was her intentions when paying for college. I dont think you understand that she is legally entitled to 0% of it. If he chooses to give her some he can, but she is not entitled to a penny.

@zapatas_mom This is how you get them to depend on you and then you can financially abuse them. I’ll get those $300 back later.

@katherinista @Amys_theWise_1 @thechosenberg I didnt see it mentioned anywhere that their claim was a million or more. Even if it was, why is she entitled to $150k for advice? If he wants to offer sure, but for her to act entitled to it is my issue.

@Tahj42 @internett_baby Considering parental court very regularly leans to the mother's side off the bat, id say theyre not known to be biased towards men. Who said anything about punishing women other than you? As If not getting child support from a guy who is not the dad is somehow punishment...

@Generalbac0n @internett_baby Assuming the tests are always accurate, assuming the courts are always fair and not biased towards men (delusional). It's really not worth just because you wanna punish a small fraction of women who are asking the wrong man for support. It'll hurt a lot of people.

If a man pays child support, and finds out later the child isn't even his, the mother should have to pay all of it back no ifs, ands, or buts. People arguing against this are wild.

@Tahj42 @internett_baby In what way is proving the male is the father, ensures there is no argument in her getting child support misogynistic, or punishment? Not everything you dont like is misogyny. There are millions of loyal couples that would have no issue with this being a thing.

@Generalbac0n @internett_baby This entire take is inherently misogynistic anyway. Why are we focusing so hard on punishing women as if they had it so much better in this patriarchal society?

@JimmieGJones @thechosenberg Yeah for me id definitely offer some to my parents, they've definitely helped me progress alot. Not sure how id feel if they just expected it off the bat. Nothing tears families apart like money does ya know

@Generalbac0n @thechosenberg Yeah, Not saying the mom should feel entitled to the money, but if I were her, and I did something like paid college tuition AND helped my son get a better lawyer AND helped get a better deal on said lawyer and the lawsuit was successful, I would certainly ask, lol

@JimmieGJones @thechosenberg My whole issue is her feeling entitled to it. If op chose to give her some sure. But to say theyre owed %15 for advice, and the fact they offered to pay for their kids college education so that she can buy a new house is weird to me.

@Generalbac0n @thechosenberg I wouldn't say she's entitled to it, but if this person wanted to pretend to be a good son, that would be the least he could do for someone who clearly worked hard for them and has sacrificed for him.

@Amys_theWise_1 @thechosenberg Exactly, if the college fees were never expected to be paid back until OP got the claim its weird asf to use that to guilt them into giving you money. If they had an agreement in place, or had she actually represented him and not just given standard parental advice, its different

@JimmieGJones @thechosenberg She didnt do anything other than advise her child to push the lawyer back. Any good parent would give their kids the best advice the could free of charge. If there was no expectation of repayment for the college fees prior to the injury claim, she is not entitled to anything.

@Generalbac0n @thechosenberg What percent did she push the lawyer back for? Honestly if it was more than 15%, I would say she deserves at least that much, as you wouldn't have had it without her AND she paid your college.

@WozzleBaby @thechosenberg Yeah she was going to do that wether there was an injury claim or not. That doesn't mean she is entitled to a penny. If there was a payback plan in place, then 100% pay what you owe. However if there was no expectation of repayment made clear, then it is ops money.

@Chapdog6 @SilversnowFFXIV @thechosenberg Give her %0 and move out. The advice given is what 90% of parents would offer their child. The advice to get a lawyer, and have them push for more money doesn't entitle her to a penny. The fact her daughter lives with her means 0, the mom would have had a rent plan if she cared.

@SilversnowFFXIV @thechosenberg That changes it slightly. So she believes shes owed a cut of the girls lottery winnings. The girl should give her 5 or 8% as a thanks and then move out.

@abrahamsontl @thechosenberg There is an updated reply in thread, the mom didn't represent her. Simply helped her find a lawyer, and advised her to push her lawyer for a better payout. The OP already gave 1/3rd to the actual lawyer, her asking for %15 percent for what is just parental advise is gross.
