Type 2 diabetes is caused by a long-term unhealthy lifestyle including your weight, diet, exercise and genetics. 26 years ago, when I was 13, I watched my father get run over by a uhaul trying to stop it from hitting me and my mother in a car. He nearly died and was in intensive care for 5 weeks. It triggered my bipolar, putting me in a depression for 6 years and gaining over 100 lbs. That's how I became a diabetic. It can't be cured, only managed.
