🚨 Big Auto Just Declared War on Your Wallet You buy a $60,000+ Cadillac or Chevy… and GM still wants to charge you every month just to use your own car. By 2028, GM plans to kill Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in all new vehicles. Navigation, music, texting, even basic connectivity? All locked behind their paid subscription service. They’ll let you own the metal… but they’ll rent you the brain. This isn’t innovation — it’s a subscription trap on wheels. You already paid for the car. Now they want a monthly fee for features that used to just work. American innovation used to mean better products. Now it means better ways to nickel-and-dime you after the sale. Who else is tired of this? Tag a car buyer who needs to see this.

This is a great read. Also shows how disturbing College Athletics have become. BIG 12 Schools can borrow up to $30 million (at a double-digit interest rate) against revenue that doesn’t exist yet, to be paid back by withholding their annual conference distributions. Revenue that RedBird is supposedly going to help generate. Revenue tied to a media rights deal that doesn’t expire until 2031. Read that again. Schools are taking high-interest loans against a TV deal that hasn’t been negotiated yet. That’s not a strategic “partnership” this is desperation dressed up in a “feel good” press release. RedBird isn’t in this because they love college football. RedBird is a part-owner of Paramount, which owns CBS and is working to acquire TNT. Two of the biggest broadcast partners in college sports. The real investment thesis here isn’t the $12.5 million conference infusion. It’s buying a seat at the table before the Big 12’s media rights come back up in 2031. That’s the ROI. That’s always been the ROI. Back up even further, because RedBird isn’t the villain here. Neither is Brett Yormark. They’re symptoms. The real villains in college sports have always been the television networks. For decades, ESPN, Fox, CBS, and NBC have dangled ever-increasing rights fees in front of conferences and schools, training everyone involved to build their entire financial model around broadcast revenue. Facilities, coaching salaries, NIL pools, roster spending, all of it inflated on the assumption that the next TV deal would be bigger than the last one. And for a while, it was. So everyone spent accordingly. Now the model is cracking. Streaming has fragmented the audience. Cord-cutting is real. The endless escalation has a ceiling. And when schools start needing to borrow against future media deals just to make payroll on their rosters, that’s not a sign of a healthy industry finding new investment, that’s a sign that the foundation was always borrowed time. This is exactly why the SCORE Act matters. College athletics does not need more private capital flowing in with zero regulatory framework around it. It needs governance. It needs rules that exist independent of whatever financial interest happens to be at the table. Because right now, the interests at the table are a private equity firm with a media portfolio, a conference commissioner trying to keep his league relevant, and 16 university presidents trying to figure out how to pay athletes while enrollment cliffs are wiping out tuition revenue. None of those people are making decisions for the health of the sport. They’re making decisions for survival. The SCORE Act isn’t perfect. No legislation is. But the alternative is what we’re watching right now, the sport slowly being financialized from the inside out, with no referee in the room. This deal with RedBird is the first of its kind for a major conference. It will not be the last. The SEC is already talking to Goldman Sachs (shame on you Greg) The Big Ten tried this with UC Investments before Michigan and USC blocked it. The floodgates are open. The question is whether anyone in Washington is paying attention before there’s nothing left worth saving?

Venezia will be back in Serie A next season, after a 2-2 draw at Spezia on Friday secured promotion back to the top tier with a game to spare. That means 23-year-old USMNT midfielder Gianluca Busio will be back in Italy’s top flight next season — he played all 90 minutes on Friday, starting his 36th out of the club's 37 league games this season. Busio has been Venezia’s 2nd highest rated player all season per FotMob — with 7 goals and 3 assists in Serie B this season. Still only 23 years old. You love to see it 🇺🇸📈

Anyone remember the "Magnificent 7" in the ACC back in 2023? That was leaked out and I don't think all of them wanted it to. If you forgot whom was part of that it was FSU, Clemson, UNC, NC State, UVA, VT and Miami. Someone(s) in that group leaked that out and possibly sabotaged it from within. The two most likely targets of doing that? Miami and Virginia.

Nope, the UVA to B1G is way overplayed. Great Academic University but while it is AAU its not all that large of a research University. Also, there is a difference between knowing and assuming. Folks listen to a certain person a bit too much on Youtube if they think UVA has it like that.

@ImmaculateView @KUandUofAfan We know the presidents of the B1G and SEC want UVA. UVA has to decide where it wants to go, but due to poor finances, the state will have to supplement them and VT. I don’t expect any movement from these two until other pieces start leaving.

@KUandUofAfan I really dont see what Virginia provides to the B1G to get them one of two spots. In the past they were considered UNC's +1 but in modern valuations, I dont think FOX/NBC/CBS are cool with that. I dont see a pathway for them to the B1G at all and I dont think they want SEC

@Sksj002 Didn’t all the streaming services raise rates at about the same time? I know I trimmed out the majority of my streaming and decided to only pay for what I REALLY wanted to watch. Also Disney has been suffering from political blowbacks lately.

3 reasons why Daredevil: Born Again S2 isn’t getting the viewership:- • Weak marketing - barely felt like it even dropped • No binge release - weekly rollout killed the hype • No big crossover/event - nothing major tying it into the wider MCU

@lhenry019 I just hope the club has a plan to reinforce the club’s roster for serie a. The last promotion was so discombobulated that the Paramount Plus description called Venezia an “incomplete roster” most of the season

Major credit to Busio. He was linked with top-flight clubs last summer, stayed and signed an extension. Now he will be headed back to #SerieA after second promotion with Venezia.

Dramatic endings to the Serie B slate today sees #USMNT midfielder Gianluca Busio and Venezia promoted back to #SerieA with one match to spare! Mantova’s late winner against Monza sealed the deal for Venezia! Awesome for Busio, who has been stellar this season.
