@flagelbagel Is that the demonic breeder scale? Goes from -9 to -1 instead of 1 to 9

@SpicyBotrytis Is it possible that the repeated rounds of gene/genome duplication and gene familial subfunctionalization set the stage for this?

What if...... Natural knockouts are more important for local adaptation and fitness variation within a species than SNPs that tweak function? Cloned loci controlling natural variation in plant fitness linked traits find natural knockouts quite often.

Update on @ancestrydna bait-and-switch: exome seq for $79 was too good to be true. The catch: after buying expecting to have the right to see my medical data (isn't that the law since part of fee was to an MD to interpret?) they charge $300 to look at it. (lol @ justification)

...Except for the 21,000 people in the test group of the clinical trial. I’m glad the @TheGardianNews understands how this all works.

@flagelbagel The Celestial Railroad, The Old Manse, The Snow Image and Other Twice Told Tales. The Thief of Always- this admittedly heavily Hawthorn list always gets my fall rolling.

@flagelbagel You’ve already waited to long. Reminds me of the time we tried to get the data from a paper in grad school and instead got the faculty member visiting us to tell us how our interpretation was wrong.

Honest question, Is it being too snitty to ask people to not use ROS in a plant pathology context and define it as H2O2, O2-, singlet, hydroxyl, etc? ROS is like saying sugar when the specific structure is critical as Glucose is v different than Sucrose in signaling.

Had fun talking to @cdoering about what we are trying to do @PairwisePL.
Food Dive@FoodDive

.@PairwisePL is tapping into the CRISPR gene-editing technology to change the DNA of a produce item by removing the bitterness from a nutrient-dense green, the seeds from the outside of a blackberry or the pit in a cherry bit.ly/2ReOemE
