To celebrate GIS day this year, take a look at our teaching resource that uses GIS in an activity. @GeoCurriculum Any tips and tricks?! I just find the lack of clarity in the spec mind-blowing, the repetition is ridiculous & the question style of AQA is another level of difficulty compared to Edexcel 😭

Been teaching 10 years and honestly, I think teaching AQA A-Level Changing Places for the 1st time is the hardest thing I've done in that time. Who on earth chooses this spec out of choice?! Enough to be a deal-breaker when next moving schools, I tell ya🤯😵‍💫😫

@kate_stockings Detroit is good for distant place, easy to look at demographics and inequality, media perception - film and song lyrics. Students really enjoy it.

@kate_stockings I taught our local area as our local place and then also used this for the local area health example in population and environment. Both also good topics for NEA.

@kate_stockings Teach key theory first, then use a wide a variety of sources as possible I.e. map, photo, different graph, poem, song, video, cartoon, articles, quotes. Select examples/ case studies carefully to cover as much as possible and where possible link to other units e.g....
