Congrats to our colleagues Dr Veerle Vandeginste and Dr Bagus Muljadi who have been awarded a @NERCscience grant of £254,307. This will allow for an integrated assessment of UK shale resource distribution based on fundamental analyses of shale mechanical and fluid properties.

Congratulations to Dr Stephen Grebby from @UoNEngineering and @GVL_InSAR on the release of your new ground-breaking UK land surface map. The changing topography was built from more than 2,000 radar images acquired by the European Union's Sentinel-1 satellites @CopernicusEU twitter.com/BBCAmos/status…
Jonathan Amos@JCDAmos

We can now make really quite sophisticated satellite maps of subsidence and uplift, even across vegetated terrain. And the reason we can do that is the avalanche of data now available from @CopernicusEU @ESA_EO #Sentinel1 bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…#EGU18 @GVL_InSAR
